I never knew that having the reseller account requires you to setup as company? I know many people who are not yet registered as company yet they are building the hosting company as single person. And they have automated this with whcms and the cpanel. So I don't think reseller hosting requires company registration.

It depends on the country you live in and how much does your local tax office pays attention to collecting tax money from its citizens. At least in Estonia it works that way that if you're offering a service (be it hosting servers from your own machine or reselling some other company's server space) and profit from it you're required to register yourself as a sole trader or company, no matter how big or small your earnings are.

Maybe you can use this solution to: You can sell web hosting packages from some percent of client invest. It's like affiliate program and some webhosting companys use it to increase number of clients.

Yes tax wise we do have those issues. Every money that comes into the bank account gets taxed. So I think reseller business may also face the same issue in the same time. Another thing is that here the sole trader taxes are low compared to the company. So it is good to start as a trader and then move towards as a company.

good idea indeed. hosting affiliates are not bad as the target market is huge. everyone needs hosting who has an online business or even a personal website.

Starting your own web hosting company is a big undertaking, but it can be a very rewarding. Here are a few steps I'll recommend

Define your target market: Who will you be selling your hosting services to? What are their needs and wants? What kind of hosting solutions will they be looking for?

Choose a business model: Will you be offering shared hosting, VPS hosting, or dedicated servers? Will you be reselling other companies' services, or will you be providing your own infrastructure?

Hello FlareCO,

Thanks for sharing these insights! Building a domain and hosting business certainly involves careful planning and financial investment. The breakdown of options for domain registration, hosting, and payment processing is quite informative. For those considering entering this space, understanding the costs and requirements is crucial. Do you have personal experience with running a domain or hosting business?

Best regards!

Make sure to contact web host and see if they can do services for you such as restarts etc fast. Also confirm what kind of conditions your server would be kept under - that is very important.
