Hey guys, i've been thinking of starting my own youtube channel focused around the game clash of clans, i'm no expert by any means, but i figured i would cater more towards a ****** player, the only question i have really to start is what kind of video recorder can i use on my iphone and would i be able to edit it afterwards to add sound if i did that stuff on my mac laptop?

It's good to start the channel and make videos while you having fun, this way you are not that stressed about making money from your channel and giving up too soon. Lot people do this mistake.

It will take time until you see your first $50 from your Youtube channel, maybe half a year or less or more, took me about 9 months to make $100ish per month.

So let me get this straight, you wanna record gameplays with your iPhone or Laptop?

I wanna record them on my iphone, then i was hoping there was a way i could download that recording from my phone to my laptop to make edits or anything before posting to youtube

You can definitely record videos with your phone and for mac a free video editor check out any of these: Apple iMovie, Avidemux, OpenShot, Lightworks, HitFilm.

And also make sure you get full versions or at least record them in a professional way i mean their website wont be included in the video as a watermark if you know what i mean!

Now the hard part right now is to find the right video recorder for my phone so that I can then import to my laptop. But first I do need to get a new phone as the one i have now is 3 years old and doesn't have much storage space on it. I am planning on getting a new one in the next couple weeks after they announce the new iPhone in hopes that the price of the iPhone 8 and iPhoneX go down and start there.

If you need to record just that game it might be smarter to invest in a higher end Android phone.
It is definitely cheaper, and if you want to you can try to record other games too since the Android store has more games available.

For editing the video on your mac laptop, you probably want to use a free editor.
You should try davinci resolve since it is free, but some effects are behind a paywall.
Hitfilm express 3 is completely free, some people prefer it over Davinci resolve. If you can afford it go with final cut pro. ($299)
It is the best of those three.

the problem with going with an android phone is i would lose my base that i have had for about 4 years now and have to start all over, i'm not trying to go pro on it

Have a question for everyone that has started a youtube channel, how many videos should I be trying to upload everyday, or doesn't matter? I want to continue with y youtube channel but also want to make i can invest enough time into to be successful to make some passive income from it. Thanks for the help guys

It doesn't matter, You can upload many videos as you want to. Just do not keep uploading the same video all over and over again

Good luck with your niche! Remember the competition, clash of clans has tons of videos uploaded already on YouTube, but the only way to make your channel stand is to answer this question (What is the difference of your video to another clash of clans videos?)

thank you, and i'm hopeing that i can go about as a ****** clash of clan player and just show people that you don't have to be hardcore to have fun and that there is no right or wrong way to play the game

Well, that's a good one, just remember, if your content is attractive and different to others, then you can get lots of views and it depends on how you're going to promote your YouTube video! Some used social media to get views, but if you're a popular person then it's not hard to get or to promote your video.

YouTube is one of the hardest things to maintain but in terms of earnings. YouTube is one of the best platform to make money if you have tons of viewers
