Hello everyone,
I have came up with an idea to help make donation easier, faster, more transparent and most importantly tackles a few NGOrganizations at once.

The idea came when I had been approached by several people asking for cash donations without any convincing proofs that proves that they will use the money for their so-said "good cause". I realize that this threatens and exploits the trust among us people. I also dislike the fact that donations flow only to one organization (often the more well known ones like the Salvation Army) and smaller legitimate ones are left out.

However, I'm still a newbie in the field of entrepreneur/social entrepreneur and like most people, I doubt my own idea's practicability. The project is still at the stage of collecting requirements. To ensure that my idea is a solution to a problem, I would appreciate if anyone here could share their opinion on
: reasons you donate cash(or not)
: would you prefer donating cash or items? Why?
: what kind of problems do you think are faced by those NGOs

Furthermore, if any of you here are a familiar in this field, I would really really love to talk to you and ask for your professional advises.

Regards,

Just today I made a small donation of 3 Euros to a girl in my country, here with 3 euros you can buy food for a day, of course depends what you choose, but there are people eating even 1 euro per day, she was collecting money for what? I really don't know and haven't payed attention.

: reasons you donate cash(or not)
I donate for mercy
I donate because I like to help
I donate and think to my mom which passed way(I believe she gets the cash on the other world)
I donate to feel good
I donate to thank God
I donate sometimes for gaining attention(on Youtube for example)
I donate for no special reason

would you prefer donating cash or items? Why?
I like to donate cash than goods, bt done both and when donate cash you can tell people are happier since they can use it for multiple things.

@Mr. B Thank you for inserting your thoughts and appreciate an influential person like you to read my thread.

On a small survey I did locally, I found that most people(more than 75% from 100 respondents) are skeptical to hand out cash. While my target is handling donations for NGOs, I limited my questions to donating to NGO instead of giving out small changes to street refugees/homeless asking for money.

When it comes to donating to a NGO, the most frequent question asked were: how do we know that the cash are properly used by the organization to sustain their services; In this point I would need more feedback on how people determine that the organization is legit straightaway.

It's my fault that I didn't give a summary of my idea. Here it is:
A system based on crowdfunding where cash sourced by large corporate or general people. NGOs that need funding for monthly expenses or emergency will approach us to list their cause and we will start a campaign to gain acknowledgement from the people(based on votes? similar to petition) and only approve the funding if certain vote number is reached.

There are still flaws in the idea especially the voting part because votes may come from the NGO's authorities, relatives, or friends that vote based on needs and not because they think that the organization deserves the funding.

I would really love some inputs from you guys! :)

Most of the NGOs in my country are primarily spreading the communism and feminism in the name of charity. Some of the NGOs are also into human trafficking. So I am not sure how NGOs can be transparent. In asia, almost every NGO once get foreign funds, it acts as a money laundering organization. So I am kind of skeptical on what NGOs stand for and how they operate in reality.

Much agreed. That's why my goal here is to create a centralized system where donation distribution is transparent. It's sad how people exploit sympathy to earn money..

1. I know the feeling of the orphan kids taken care by the nuns.
2. To be an example to others.

I prefer donating cash. The management knows

Charity is is influential :)
The management could be the one using the money for self benefits. Could you give me a factor that convinced you to donate to a certain NGO?

I remember reading the AMA of one blockchain developer on website called hashnode. There was one blockchain based system that is coming up for open source developers to get funding or for maintaining the open source projects. If this concept of yours matches with something like that then maybe you can implement using blockchain for more transparency.

Hi thanks for the input. Do you know what keyword I can use to search for this project?

1. Other sponsor like All Children Inc. also support Queen of Peace, child orphanage in which they do auditing.
2. Nuns who're taking care the special children don't get salary.
3. They do have livelihood program to be able to fed the children and provide daily needs.

Just like you I usually love to donate for a worthy cause and as you rightly stated sometimes the approach used by this NGOs aren't pure and that needs to be fixed for more credibility. I hope other follow suit too,if they are sure of their genuineness

It is important to understand the registration and
compliance requirements for how foreign bodies can
legally donate to NGOs.
...
Documents required:
1 Form No. ...
2 A copy of memorandum.
3 Rules and regulations of the organisation.
4 Audited accounts of the last three years.
5 List of office bearers.
Better at least with these documents requirement it will curtailed the fraudulent duplication of NGOs for selfish gain. People don't mind taking advantage of this for their selfish gains.

I have done small donations in past as well I remembered back 5 years ago there was a person on a forum who said he did not had money to buy a domain and one other thing that I forgot now luckily I had both so I gifted to him so that they can become usuable for someone else and he becomes happy and :-)

This is actually a good idea.
Im donating sometimes because
1. Because i saw that they really need it (such as in hospital or need food for kids)
2. Because im always thinking that im lucky enough not to need that kind of urgent help.
3. Because i have spare money to give.
