Spare5 Overview
Spare5 is a GPT site and iOS App that pays its community members to perform various micro tasks on behalf of its clients. One of the company's main functions is to use human skills in training artificial intelligence (AI) models to be more intelligent. Spare5 has worked with some of the well known brands such as Microsoft, IBM, Sentient Technologies, GoPro, Pinterest, and Expedia.

Getting Started
Anyone age 18 and over can create an account with Spare5. Registration can be done through one of several social media accounts or by email address. After account creation, you will be required to provide some basic information such as age, gender and address. This information will be used to pair you with available tasks. These tasks can be completed either by logging into their website or by using the App which currently only available for iOS devices.

The Tasks
Tasks are sectioned into the following categories:

Assess Language
Here you will be listening to audio voice recordings and describing the content, tone, meaning, and speaker attitude.

Annotate Images
This task requires viewing images and labeling the different elements.

Isolate Elements
For this task you will be selecting the edges of elements to separate them from the rest of the image.

Provide Keywords
This task is simply tagging photos using appropriate keywords. This information is used to train computers on how to interpret images.

The Pay System
The minimum payout is set at $1. This setting can be adjusted on the dashboard of your account if you desire to be paid at a larger amount. Payments are sent via PayPal every Friday.

Referral System
Under the Refer-a-Friend program, you can earn up to $20. Every time your referral earns $10, you will receive a $2 bonus, and the referral will receive $1. This will continue until they have earned their first $100 or through their first 180 days. Your referral link will be activated when you have received $10 in payouts.

Basically, you'll sign up with the site. Afterward, you'll have some test to take that will qualify you for different areas of work. The more test you take and pass the higher your chances are of finding work on the site. These are qualifying test. They have a certain way to do things and they need to make sure you understand this before attempting a project.

there are no tasks there.. I've been checking it daily but without luck. You can make money with their app - if you have an iPhone you can use their app and take photos of specific objects and you get up to $0.99 for a single photo.

It almost looks like you'll need to work on the iPhone and the website at the same time in order to earn anything from this app. I'm not sure the photos the app requires you to take are for international users or not. This would be a bit difficult for everyone to participate in taking photos and uploading them to the app.

If you are really interested in trying out this app, it has been suggested here that you have an iPhone if you plan on making money with this app. Otherwise, the website doesn't offer as much and it is much harder to earn from the site or the app.

@Awan Cheyanne I don't think so, I know some who are making more money from laptop and PC as well on Spare5 and having an Iphone is an added advantage but it does not make a world a lot of difference in earnings.

The minimum payout now is 1$! However, I have not tried taking their tests because I got lazy. Some are ok and easy but I got wrong in some parts.

Tasks used to be much more worth the effort for the pay, spare5 works internationally, and people are making 70-80$ a week, i think it is worth joining, in start may be you can get less tasks but as your experience points will increases we will be able to earn more

Compared to Crowdflower, I prefer Spare 5. It used to pay a mininum of $1 back then, but it has gone up to $5. I have no negative reviews on the site other than the number of tasks avaialble.

I think the minimum cash out is at 1$ again. And, you may be abke to refer once you have reached a certain amount. When you sign up, they say you will have a guranteed 0.35$.

Yes, you can do Spare5 tasks through your web browser (PC) or with an iPhone. They do not support phones with an Android OS.. which is dumb if you ask me but hey! Maybe in the future, they will expand to Android as well. I've heard that they have really easy tasks for phones such as taking a picture of an object and getting paid.

I joined quite a few weeks ago, but I just can not get into this site, not meaning I cant log in, it just doesnt make sense for me. Sometimes their instructions are confusing for me, but I see others getting paid and saying how much they like it, so obviously Im just dense lol!

I also want something explained to me in a great detail that I can accomplish and not spend a whole lot of time on a task and at the end them saying, I am sorry you did not complete the task correctly . No credit was issued.

Sometimes there is no test, so you need to wait a few days and there will be a new one, this earning method works only on a laptop or desktop with a normal internet browser

First of all, tasks here are very easy. As long as you can read and comprehend English, working here is a piece of cake.
Second, if you still have problems understanding how the site works, they have a FAQ section that is explained thoroughly and a community where you can ask questions and get answers in seconds by the admin or other spare5 members.
Third, I haven't experienced the "I am sorry you did not complete the task correctly . No credit was issued" here at spare5.

The site is intended for Computers/laptops only. If you are using mobile devices, obviously you will not get any test and tasks. But there is a method that will let you do the tests and tasks in your mobile device. The downside is, it is very hard to do the tasks in a mobile device.
If you are an iPhone user, you can install the spare5 and do task. Though the tasks on iPhone are different and are fewer than when you're using computers.
