Spare5 Overview
Spare5 is a GPT site and iOS App that pays its community members to perform various micro tasks on behalf of its clients. One of the company's main functions is to use human skills in training artificial intelligence (AI) models to be more intelligent. Spare5 has worked with some of the well known brands such as Microsoft, IBM, Sentient Technologies, GoPro, Pinterest, and Expedia.

Getting Started
Anyone age 18 and over can create an account with Spare5. Registration can be done through one of several social media accounts or by email address. After account creation, you will be required to provide some basic information such as age, gender and address. This information will be used to pair you with available tasks. These tasks can be completed either by logging into their website or by using the App which currently only available for iOS devices.

The Tasks
Tasks are sectioned into the following categories:

Assess Language
Here you will be listening to audio voice recordings and describing the content, tone, meaning, and speaker attitude.

Annotate Images
This task requires viewing images and labeling the different elements.

Isolate Elements
For this task you will be selecting the edges of elements to separate them from the rest of the image.

Provide Keywords
This task is simply tagging photos using appropriate keywords. This information is used to train computers on how to interpret images.

The Pay System
The minimum payout is set at $1. This setting can be adjusted on the dashboard of your account if you desire to be paid at a larger amount. Payments are sent via PayPal every Friday.

Referral System
Under the Refer-a-Friend program, you can earn up to $20. Every time your referral earns $10, you will receive a $2 bonus, and the referral will receive $1. This will continue until they have earned their first $100 or through their first 180 days. Your referral link will be activated when you have received $10 in payouts.

Compared to Crowdflower, I prefer Spare 5. It used to pay a mininum of $1 back then, but it has gone up to $5. I have no negative reviews on the site other than the number of tasks avaialble.

Some are yeah, but some can be a bit stressful because you need certain % of accuracy. I mainly qualify for the bounding boxes right now and they pay alright. I think something like 0.10 per task?

I got only $0.01 per task and some are unpaid tasks

The unpaid tasks are either the qualifying ones which is sort of like ''training'' so other categories open up. Once you did a specific qualifying task, don't do it anymore since you won't gain anything. That's why they're unpaid

I am glad that they put back the $1 minimum payout. I was shocked when I checked my PayPal, I got paid $3. I haven't earned much because I did not work for weeks.

I've join recently to Spare5 it is somehow funny working on tasks, I see that to the minimum payout is 1$, I was a little bit surprised because I read in this thread that iy is 5$.

I just started working on Spare5 again last week when I found out that payout is back down to $1. I was able to receive a payment of $1.42 and this week I will get $2.50. I like doing the small tasks on there and I check it often to see if there is anything available to work on. I have noticed that the site and the app will have errors and the task won't submit. If it happens again, I will report the problem.

just complete all qualifying task, and you'll got many paid task as soon as possible.
i'm like doing image keyword task, gimme up to $0.02/keyword and 1 task can have more than 60 keyword in total
thats why i can get it fast, task is not given daily, sometimes need just a refresh (F5) and new task will be available

In my first day yesterday I've been allready earn 0,50$ in about 2 hours maximum. I hope today it will be at least like yesterday. An inconvenience is that the tasks sometime load slower.
