I've read news today telling that South Korea cryptocurrency exchange shuts down on Tuesday after being hacked. According to the news they blamed North Korea for cyber-attack and worth $5 million were stolen. They have been hacked for the second time. About one million South Koreans own Bitcoin will lose their investments.
Is it really safe to invest to Bitcoin and other virtual currencies after what happened to South Korea?

Yes,it is safe I think. It is not the first time, when exchange sites declare the same thing. Many people think, that when an exchange site claims such things,it is only an excuse to disappear with the people's funds. That's why never keep cryptocurrencies on exchange sites.

I think it only depends on the security the exchange site uses.. it is well known that south korea and north korea are in a permanent war, so no doubt why this happened even in cryptocurrency

I think,it might be an excuse too,for the same reason, that they are not very much in friendly relationships. As it is well known, every exchange site must have the best security, that no one can touch.Sometimes it is said, that on inside work can be too, when those things happen.

But it happened for the second time and yet South Korea didn't learn anything. Does it mean that North Koreans are geniuses in terms of hacking? Are they capable to hack any bitcoin sites around the world?

definitely not. what I wanted to point out is that is isn't surprising that north korea attacked their site, but the main and only fault still belongs to the south koreans - it could've been anyone to hack their site, not only north koreans

I was shook when I read the news. Maybe they also gonna invest the stolen bitcoins to another Bitcoin sites. I really have no idea I'm new to Bitcoin.

This is why Bitcoin and altcoins were started dropping few days ago. Effect on digital currency after hack of Seoul Bitcoin Exchange "Youbit" was not very good, however cryptocurrencies are trying to recover.

That's bad news. I hope they will do something to stop North Korea for hacking. Hope South Korea got strong security systems to their sites. I wonder how North Korea hacked their sites that easily and they did that twice. War isn't doing anything good.

this is bad, lately I was really considered to use paper wallet since my investment method is for long-time period. Doing business on exchange service maybe very high risk, it's like you open money changer without officer security to guarding.

My friend told that the price per unit today is $50 it's very high. So he said that it's not a good time to invest in Bitcoin but if you have the money why not you might gain more than you bet.

The price of the Bitcoin is very right now.Couple of days back the value of the Bitcoin has dropped to $13,000,but now is over $14,000.I didn't expect to stay that high value even in January for the Bitcoin. It may still make some surprise the Bitcoin...

The anonimity of bitcoin and it been majorly transacted onlines makes most exchange site at liberty to declare their site been hacked whether real or false claim, the fact is that there should not be total reliance on crypto coins

What $14,000? Is that for real? If I convert it to our currency that's about P700,000. I won't invest in that kind of price I rather invest it in business.

Seriously?! Currently, Bitcoin price is about 3,619 USD per pop. Please do your research first before recklessly posting just for the sake of earning BMF tokens like this.

Is this true? That's gotta be sad! That's a huge amount of money, and TWICE? Wow. So cryptocurrencies CAN really be hacked? :O

The one that got hacked IS the exchange not Bitcoin network itself. In order to avoid such tragedy, choose crypto exchange wisely. Read some reviews and people's opinion on any crypto-related forum.
