Skyword Reviews.jpg

Skyword is a content writing site or what some people refer to as a content mill. However, this site does pay a bit better than most content mills out there today. On this site, they have what they call channels. A channel is a company who offers work to freelancers. You don't only need to be a freelance writer to join this site. They also look for graphic designers, photographers, journalists, content writer, and videographer. The site has different types of jobs you can work on. The only catch is that you must be selected to join a channel. You can belong to multiple channels on the site and work for more than one company at a time. This will all depend on you and how much time you are willing to invest in this site.

The site is an international site and is looking for people worldwide. If you want to join this site you'll need to check the countries that are available. Just go to the site and check which countries can join. It is free to join.

How To Apply:
  • To to the site and check the country tab first. Make sure your country is listed before joining.
  • You must have a PayPal account i8n order to join this site.
  • Fill in your email address and your password.
  • They require you to fill in your profile information This is very important when working for them.
  • Add your image or photo of yourself to the site so people can see who you are.
  • You are going to need to upload 3 PDF files to the site. These are examples of your work and what you've published online.
  • If you don't want to create a PDF file and upload it to the site, you can always link to different articles you have online. Just add the links to your work, so the company can review it and see your writing style.
  • Now link your Twitter account to your profile. This is important and they require this.
  • Now you can link any of your other social media sites, your professional blog or even your website. You can link up to 10 blogs or websites to your profile.
  • Once you've completed the application and filled in your profile you can now submit this to the company.
  • They will send you a confirmation email that you must answer so they know they have the correct email address for you.
  • The company will now review your profile and your writing examples and see if you are a good fit for any of their upcoming projects.
  • A channel owner can see your profile and read your writing examples. If they like what they see they will invite you to join their channel.
  • Once you've joined the profile, you'll find different projects you can work on.
  • The owner of the channel will determine how much they pay for each project.
  • You'll be uploading your complete project directly to the channel for the owner to review and pay you for your work.
  • The owner can request revisions to your completed project.
  • You have the opportunity to work with a different channel on the site at once. Just keep in mind you'll need to be invited to join these channels and either the site can send out the invitation or the channel owner can send you an invitation.
How Are You Paid?

The site sends out payments on the 15th and 30th of each month to your PayPal account.

Has anyone ever joined this company and worked for the different channels on the site?

How much is the pay rate per work or per article? They will accept the article based on client demand or just anything we write?
What's the topics they preferred?

The last writing site I tried and my article got rejected was contentGather. They rejected my first article and suspended my account.

I joined again and submitted a fresh new article and they rejected again and sudpended me. I am still waiting an update from meritcrowd and I hope they won't reject me.

oh suspend from that site doesn't mean everything is over, I like your sprit, I often discourage for getting rejected. I need to learn from you!

If you want writing sites, you should also try iwriter. Have you heard of the site? It's also legit and though they may have their own negative reviews, but people are earning from it and they also recommend. So, I suggest you also give them a try. Their is a review thread for Iwriter on this site too, you can check it out.

Not iWriter again. Please, I'll warn people here to avoid iWriter since their site makes it easy for clients to take a screenie of your work, reject you, and get a free article for no charge. Definitely would not recommend.

@thread
It is quite difficult to get accepted at Skyword, so you may wish to begin with something easier but legit, such as ContentGather.

Skyword is absolutely a new name to me, does content gather pay for writing if yes then I would like to ask is this site approve articles easily?

It is very discouraging and anyone can give up but I think of the times when my articles got approved on other sites and it makes me write again for a new site. If you have had an article approved, it means you are better and you can write. You should also know that sites that reject your article don't mean your skills are poor, it means their standards are too high and don't make sense.

I tried iWriter but I scored 13/15 in the test and the passmark was 14. I still do not like it because I could see you need 30 articles to be approved on level zero before you get upgraded.

ContentGather is okay if you can write with proper English grammar. If not, high chances of being rejected on the spot. Well, at least you earn lots of cash.

@SHOHANA you mentioned about being discouraged and I was responding about the general view of a site rejecting an article. I have no experience with skyword yet.
Sorry if my words discourage you, actually I have such bad experiences of being rejected and sites not work for me almost time. Thanks for sharing your thought as reply :)

I actually was looking for a site where I can write and earn.
Will take a look and let you know my experience there.
Thanks!

You are welcomed. You haven't discouraged me. I was mentioning that I understand how it feels to be rejected and how I manage to continue trying. :D hehe

Well I do understand your fears. There are other writing sites to check out. You can scan through beermoneyforum get paid to write reviews and see other options. Maybe you gonna find one that interests you.

There is a lot of competition nowadays online and it is harder and harder to be accepted. There are many sites online now that you can try and add your content to. Then it can check the readability of the article to see how well it reads. This is very important. Also you can check on some grammar sites and check your grammar and punctuation. This will help improve your article too.

Skyword another very new name to me,from these reviews I believe one has to be very good to excel here.I wonder the rate of rejection here.I hate all forms if rejection it can be very annoying after all the time wastage.
