Good day, this year we have experienced several times that keys and other important data from online wallets like Coinbase were stolen.
I myself have a satochip hardware wallet.(satochip.io)
I can open a lightning network connection with my wallet and think that this is also possible with other hardware wallets.
This option is why the excuse that the transaction take too much time, wiped off the card and my key is only accessible to hackers when the connection to the lightning network is open.
My question is, is it not good to change the system so that everyone should have a hardware wallet to avoid such massive hacks ?

That is a good idea and it can really improve the Crypto community because security matters. On the other hand, hardware wallets are very expensive and I don't think everyone can afford to get one.

I think that will not solve the problem of stopping hackers attack, the best solution is to increase the security whether online wallet or hardware wallet.

Satochip hardware wallet is only 25€ .
Made in Europe (Belgium).

My bank ask each year much more to use my account.

I don't think there's ever gonna be enough security to stop hackers.
Many times it's someone who works for the company where the keys are located that caused the security breach.
When your key is no longer online on a server but on a hardware wallet, this will drastically lower the possibility for a hacker to steal your key.

It depends. More hardware wallet will be good but not for everyone. Online wallets are much more accessible to general people. Both have their own pros and cons.

Wow!!!
It seems like this one is very cheap because I have seen many hardware wallets been sold at $100+ each.
I already have one and the delivery was fast. I also bought their card reader because I didn't have one. It was 15€ and can also read the chip from my ID. I'm very pleased with it.

I have both and even multiple online wallets. But the question was not whether you're in favour or against it, but that it would be much better for security or not.
The crypto algorithm of the bitcoin network is normally safe enough that hackers can't crack your key and yet there were many keys obtained by hackers last year because they were stolen by sim-swap or directly stolen from the company database.

offcourse if the hardware wallet offering a better service comes into play why not to use it.If the person is storing alot of btc its advisable they use a hardware wallet and even the withdraw of large volume will be worth it.But if you are having just a minimal then use online wallets but ensure transaction are safe between you and other parties.

Hardware wallets have high security and are safer to use but I still think online wallet are more easier to use and access them anything you want.

I also traded small amounts with my hardware wallet and the fee is usually lower because you don't have to pay commission to the company where your wallet is located.
To be honest, I only have online wallets for crypto staking and because exchanges do not create a possibility to do fast trading with your hardware wallet.
Which can normally be solved by new technologies such as the lightning network.

Easier to use has never been good for security (On the contrary, more easily to use mostly creates more scurity problems.)
Having access with anything you want, also most of the time has ends in; have access for others with anything they want. (A good example of that are the SIM-swaps.)
The more doors and windows you have in your house, the easier it is for a thief to get access.

There might be an improvement with this suggestion ,however I think that the best thing is for cryptocurrency companies to tighten up their security measures

Of course there should be more since we are looking at safety measures here. With hardware wallet there will be more security but it is more expensive to own

The truth is that online wallet is more easier to hack and arent safe unlike hardwallet that is more safer , so the two can't be compared together i think

None is comparing the two wallets ,the thread is only seeking people's view on the wallets . We all know that hardwallet is the most secured wallet

Hardware wallets are a good investment because they are thought to be more secured than other wallets. Meanwhile not everyone can afford the hardware wallets so I don't think it can be imposed

Hardware wallet, you have from 25€ !
Someone who doesn't have 25 € to buy a hardware wallet would better keep his money to buy food .

Sorry to disappoint you !
A hardware wallet is identical as an online wallet with the only difference that the key to access your part of the blockchain is crypted on the hardware .
I really hope you don't think that when I send Bitcoin to my hardware wallet, these really end up on the hardware ?
In other words, when you say that hardware wallets are much safer, you agree that it is better for the security that everyone should have such a wallet ?
In relation to people's views on the two types of wallets, you are right.
I thought the question was simple!
Wouldn't it be better if there were more hardware wallets for safety (security)?
Nevertheless, thanks for giving me an indirect answer and agreeing to me that they are safer and that it is better for the security that everyone has one.
