This is a question that has crossed many people's mind in the cryptocurrency market, especially if you are on the losing side of these cryptocurrency price hikes and declines as well. A recent article that was released by Marc Powers, who is focused on teh legal side of crypto and even teaches a course on it, where is is question and asking if the SEC should investigate Elon Musk for his tweets on teh cryptocurrency market. Based on his tweets he has been able to manipulate the market quite a bit. Do you think that this should happen?

I think elon musk is doing the manipulation , but there is nothing the sec can do about it since he have the freedom of expression , but the issue is that his wealth would be affected ,since he had lose focus

He is actually actively driving the market for Tesla and Space X too. There the SEC could get him. I think they already tried cuz he always piss on them. In crypto I do not see any legal base how they could get him. I am not aware of any regulations of crypto in the US

It does make sense considering the fact that Elon Musk is never actually advocating for people to buy the cryptocurrency. Therefore he is not providing anyone with any financial advice and the stars then fall within the bounds of free speech.

He have freedom of speech and if anyone invest because of his tweet its their own problem, he won't be liable for anyone loss incurred or whatsoever

This is likely true, however i do remember also reading an article where the SEC was actually talking about trying to take action against his as well, in the sense of speaking of a currency that is not full legalized yet. This may be actionable on their part.

I saw the information about the sec trying to checkmate his tweet and others , but despite everything he still keeps posting ,showing no cares or whatsoever

Yes. I was rather surprised that there were no repercussions for him mentioning dogecoin on Saturday night live, especially since he was instructed not to mention anything about cryptocurrency at all.

Hmm i will still make my research , because someone told me that he said somethings during the Saturday night live ,and it affected the price so bad after that day

Elon musk is one of their own and has benefited from the government. By the way, his tweets comes with a caveat emptor so everyone is responsible for his actions. Did they accuse him when they were gaining?

From what I have seen when it comes to the comments on his platform and his account many people are actually very unhappy with the statement said he makes because they have made a considerable loss. People tend to blame people for their misfortune.

That's so unfair to blame him for loss that traders cause by dumping tokens. People buy the tokens at a high price forgetting that it'll dump in a short time.

It is very unfair and there was not force on his part from them to invest in the coin, however i think that it is just human nature to try and find some sort of outlet to blame a loss on. People also tend to blame exchange sites when they experience a loss as well.

Considering the fact that there is freedom of speech , I doubt if there will be any reason for him to be sued. He never for once forced people to accept his opinion

You Are Right , But In Actuality He Played A Key Role In Developing The Situation Which Is Now Improving And Should Continue To Improve Along The Time .

You are correct in this however I think that the only time they will have a legal standpoint to take action against Elon Musk will be if he openly manipulates the market resulting in a pump-and-dump system which is considered to be illegal.

It depends on how he manipulated the market. If he tweets and people move in line with the tweet , no one should hold him liable.

Yes posts like that from him and other crypto influencers always go with a tag that it's not a financial advice. So people are responsible for their actions when trading a coin.

Hmm well all he do is like everyone else. If we have that much influence with our tweets i think we all would have done the same. Many people do the same problem is they're not as influential as Elon. If they will investigate elon shouldn't they investigate everyone then?
