A release was made few hours ago denying this move and claiming it to be mere rumours. Well, let's keep our fingers crossed and see how the whole thing will play out.The South African owned Mega supermarket in Nigeria started it business in Nigeria in the year 2005.
The company stated in it operational and voluntary meeting that it has considered selling off majority of it stake in Nigeria holding.
Reasons were not disclose yet.
Wow , this news is kind of odd . why will they want to leave considering the fact that they are doing very well in Nigeria ?The South African owned Mega supermarket in Nigeria started it business in Nigeria in the year 2005.

If they are going to sell off their structures to Nigeria , then they won't lose much from leaving Nigeria .I am very sure if they will be selling their stake definitely the company will be bought by Nigerlans so only the name may change and service delivery improved.
I think this has much to do with the tension that had erupted last year due to the acts of violence exasbated by the lndegenous south Africans who wanted to take the law into their own hands citing that foreigners were taking their jobs, just to add on your thouht. So they were just looking for the perfect moment to amicably retaliate to the pressure that the Nigerian government put on south African government."the viewsWow , this news is kind of odd . why will they want to leave considering the fact that they are doing very well in Nigeria ?
I hope it has nothing to do with the earlier Nigeria - south African crises .
Well , I hope their mobile telecommunication network won't follow suit. Nigerians in south Africa should also be careful more than before , because this relocation without reason is suspiciousI think this has much to do with the tension that had erupted last year due to the acts of violence exasbated by the lndegenous south Africans who wanted to take the law into their own hands citing that foreigners were taking their jobs, just to add on your thouht. So they were just looking for the perfect moment to amicably retaliate to the pressure that the Nigerian government put on south African government."the views

All the tip-toeing around each other by both countries is a little confusing. I really hope shoprite won't be going anywhere though. What a great loose by the owner, shoprite is rated number one shopping complex in Africa especially Nigeria with the little research I have made, shoprite made up to 10 billion on their first opening in kwara state nigeria
Same here. I like shoprite because their goods are affordable . we love to see them remain in the country , and for the two countries to settle their dispute amicablyAll the tip-toeing around each other by both countries is a little confusing. I really hope shoprite won't be going anywhere though.
I am not really sure but judging by the likely cause of their exit aside low sales. If eventually they live I don't see anything sad because they are not moving with thier investments they will rather sell which is what was stated though some said it rumour.Well if the xenophobic attack is one of the reasons while they are leaving , then I think there is more cause for concern .
This is because they don't need to move out . Nigerians won't attack them again provided they don't attack Nigerians in south Africa
I really doubt that the xenophobic attacks have anything to do with this move by shoprite. Though it has Ben claimed to be rumours, there is absolutely no smoke without fire. I just hope whatever it is will keep the standards and pace set already by shoprite.Well if the xenophobic attack is one of the reasons while they are leaving , then I think there is more cause for concern .

Unless they are not really making it due to high taxation by government , but with the one in my neighborhood , they are really making it , people are always seen there , buying things and getting services rendered to them .I am not really sure but judging by the likely cause of their exit aside low sales. If eventually they live I don't see anything sad because they are not moving with thier investments they will rather sell which is what was stated though some said it rumour.
