I have some goods to sell. I started to sell some products on Facebook, but the downside is the tight competition as a number of Facebook friends are doing the same. Though, we are able to sell some of our products. However, I want to earn more from selling our products. I am thinking between Shopify or Etsy. But I want to know which of the two works best. Selling on both might be good, but I have limited time to spend for two websites so I am choosing one of the two. Anybody has tried the two websites? Which one works better?

I have not tried any of the websites but I have a feeling that shopify would be better. Anyway, lets wait and see, someone with experience on both might come to your rescue.

Maybe you should also give an example of your products so that anyone who has an experience with both can easily recommend the right website for you.

I am in favor of the shopfiy. As that seems to be more easier to maintain. And here we can focus on the shop itself. You can see that for this reason for payout and shipping. And this means you have to just focus on the shopify store and the shipping. etsy has more complexity on that part. I think the totla pricing also goes higher with etsy. And it's better to make use of the wordpress and woo commerce in that case.

Thank you for the feedback. I have a friend who recently told me that Shopify works better than Etsy as well. I might try and start an account in Shopify.

I think that you should use Etsy , because Etsy has a good traffic ....so it's easy to get the sales
Oh, I was confused. Someone said Shopify is better, then Etsy. I think I should try both. Hehe.
I am not sure how's the traffic on both sites. Will check their Alexa ranking.

Both are too good and reputed tshirt selling platform, I have account there but never get a time to design tshirts for those sites, shopify offered users free sign up for limited time as far i can remember etsy is better i think.

Different people will give you different opinions tho. Although both have great overall rating.

Just try both, and share your opinion here.
I'm kinda thinking on this too. Let's see. ^.^

I think if you don't want to invest money then both etsy and shopify can be skipped. You can sell directly from the facebook. And that also works but here you have to rely on the facebook traffic. And it's hard to find out how many users may buy from you. So you can see that in this case you have to do the promoted post. And also in such case it'd be reliable to invest into the ad options which can be easy to promote as well. That's the part worth taking in mind.

I know of Etsy shop, it has nice features that you can use to promote goods, once you sign up you will be given 40 listing apace to display your goods.

From my perspective I think Esty is better, because you can set up your own customize shop and list your custom products and other types of products.Esty is quite popular so you can get enough traffic to make sales and even create custom orders. So I will suggest you use Esty.

I feel shopify holds edge over etsy as they have the experts which can help us start a website from scratch and even a newcomer can do a great job without any experience or expertise but still we need to pay those experts for their work so we need a decent enough amount to set up our virtual store.

I think wrong comparison. Shopify is a self made store. Where as the etsy is a home for the homemade items and the items which are made for decoration and other items. And considering the traffic for the etsy is a bit consistent. I'd say that etsy is a good option too. but totally different market verticals.

Choosing any of these will depends too on what you have on your mind to sell. If you intend to sell household items then esty should be the better place. Just like offline numbers of customers matters. So it better you go for a site with a consistent traffic range which will help with your number of sales daily.

Etsy is only good for the handmade and creative stuff. In case of the shopify. it can deal with everything. Like creative, handmade and lot of things that you can think of in case of the e-commerce. I'd choose shopify only for the dropshipping because it's expensive to host the site there. Etsy too can be expensive if you don't have sales.

So Listen here
Shopify is more for regular products and business. products that you can found them anywhere + you need to have at least visitors or buyers and know how to do great marketing strategies to sell
Etsy is more like for creative people if you are an Artist for exemple Etsy is the best place to sell your products and you don't really need marekting skills you just need a good product + there's no huge fees like shopify Sub and the domain and other things
hope I made it clear for you

Wooow, many respond huh
Hope you are not going to get confused.
No matter which platform you use, traffic is the key.
No traffic no sales
No sales no money
