Since the crypto law that legalized cryptocurrencies in the Russia has passed, several major crypto-related sites have been blocked in the country. This in accordance to the law that forbids the citizens of Russia to use crypto as means of payment. BestChange.ru, an aggregator site that lists about 400 local crypto exchanges in Russia is one of the victims. Roskomnadzor, the Russian telecommunication regulator has also blocked other sites such as cryptowikipedia.ru and coinpost.ru. As reported by Cointelegraph, these websites were blocked because they were "offering to buy electronic currency Bitcoin and certain products using this currency."

This doesn't sound good considering that the whole world is embracing the use of bitcoin now. Unless the sites are fraudulent but if not then it isn't a good decision by Russia

Is quite sad for Russians that as countries were busy trying to adopt the use of cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin and Russia is blocking cryptocurrency services in their country

This is not good at all and not just for the users who would find crypto use more difficult but all those exchange sites may likely incur losses over this decision made by the Russian government.

Is so sad, now that most countries are trying to embrace cryptocurrency as a means of payment.
Not really. Those that were affected were those that failed to identify with the registration process. Banning them is right as it will permit only legalized companies to operate

Are most countries embracing cryptos quite that much? Sure, legalization and regulation are happening, thankfully, but I think we are still far from the moment when most ordinary people will be able to go into a store and pay for groceries with cryptos.
I quite agree with you. Time will come when people will buy stuffs with cryptocurrency but it is still far . And shops still needs to plan how to sort the issue of volatility

Russia has a reputation of being the odd one out, most times the Russian government seem like an oppressive force especially with the way they treat their people. If the government of Russia has decided to keep its people out of the growing trend of crypto currency it makes me suspicious whether there is a conspiracy going on and makes me wonder why it seems like no one can really question the Russian government decision

I think if the site was involved in cheating or fraud them it's good decision of russian government. And if they didn't do any fraud them Russian government did wrong

It seems that you fail to understand the subject matter here. They are only banning those cryptocurrency companies that failed to register under them.

But I just to believe it for the betterment of their economy. I don't think it will be banned for just the sake of it. Maybe those banner didn't follow some principles they should have.

What does that mean really? Are they going to impose tax on those companies is that why they are banning the companies that don't comply? From my own thinking perspective, government involvement in trying to regulate crypto currency would eventually yield the same results as with fiat money, inflation, economic instability and low return on investment

So it is like most of those sites have been carrying out services illegally.I think it is a hard time for crypto users and the service providers to comply with crypto rules.I think with time they will get to adapt or other more sites may come up complying with the rules.

It simply mean that the want them to be registered so that the activities will be known and monitored. Secondly , the government have to still get some tax from them.

Hmm, It is fair to ban cryptos for sometime or totally, as they don't have any stable value, and also have not backed by physical material they are just virtual coins.

Fair to ban cryptocurrency ? How ? , Cryptocurrency do not necessarily need any back up. It is a virtual coin that can be used for trading in their ways .

Yes, it is fair to ban crypto, as it doesn't have a stable, value and also not backed by a strong security system.

First of all it is not like gold or petrol, we don't know how is it's price goes high or low, it is not backed by anything, so that's the reason.

Well , permit me to remind you that the said Bitcoin and blockchain has being a source of income to many people. It's volatility has made it more than gold in terms of investment

I think most were scammed if the security was too low.Like for example with p2p exchanges many were in loses if the security to carry out wasn't strong.
