Do people still buy used clothing on ebay and other market sites, or just go to second hand stores locally? I was going through my closet today and saw that I have old clothes I don't always wear and some I haven't for years.

I also have 2 boxes of clothes that were given to me by a friend who no longer needed them and wanted to clear up space in their house and side room. Mostly shirts, but some pants like jeans.

I got to thinking that maybe I could sell some of these or all of them that are not used if there is still a market for it. Or is it too competitive to sell like that anymore?

I have never sold the clothes online, but offline I traded them for utensils. We won't get the right price for those clothes, most of the time it goes to the poor people.
Try them to sell online as you weren't using then the space is waste for you or else offer to someone who can wear them.

I just give them for free, if I sell them I probably earn couple bucks so I feel better giving them out for free.
You are doing right decision because one can't afford to buy in less price too. My mom gives some times free, but what we find with these people is, they drink and waste money for the unnecessary things.
I always like to donate some money to the poor people those who sat at the temples, it was one of my best habit in life to donate atleast a penny. When we die, we aren't going to carry all those things including money. Life is too short to make everything perfect in time.

You're a kind and generous person, I.C. I think it may be a good idea to give clothes freely too to people who need them in retrospect.

Maybe sell some online, but always make sure that some is available for others who need them in the community for free so that they never have to go without.

Your mom sounds like a good person too, suresh. It's important to know the difference between doing a good deed for those in need, and being taken advantage of by people who do not need but misuse the gifts they are given which can take from others.

Life is short, so we need to enjoy it while it lasts. Making money can help us do this, but it also makes it possible for us to do this for others we care about. My motivation for striving to have more and to always have enough is so that I will be able to be free, and will always be able to have things to help and to give others when they are in need. Maybe someday they will be inspired to do the same for people I can never reach to help, but they can.

It really depends what type of clothes they are. There could be a market for designer clothes. If it's normal day to day clothes I think it won't be easy. It really comes down to how you market them.

More often than not, I sell my used clothing on eBay. I find that I make more money off of them than if I were take them to a second hand store. It really all depends on the condition of them though and what brand they are. If the clothes are an unheard of brand, it can be a hard sell on eBay.

There are buyers of used clothes online. I have been invited several times by my friends to sell my clothes on e-bay. They have been doing that for a long time. What they do is post a photo of the item, much better if it is worn by a model (not a professional model though). And the description should be appealing like a real advertisement. So instead of giving the clothes to charity, they sell it on ebay and then donate the money to charity. Much better, right?

But for me, I have a sentimental attachment to my clothes so I don't have the intention to sell used clothes.

Wow, that's a great idea. Good on them. :)

I actually got a mannequin bust form after a local store closing and have seen my sales increase dramatically since displaying clothes on the form. I also buy used clothes on eBay and it would actually turn me off to see a person physically wearing the clothes. Strange, I know, but I'd much rather seem them on a mannequin.

Depending on what you are trying to sell, you should donate it instead. People normally don't buy used cheap clothes, because it's not hard to buy a new one. But if you are going to sell used expensive clothes, like wedding dresses or these things, then I would say there's a market for it.

People like seeing the clothes worn so that they can have a better idea of how they will look, you had a great idea when you bought the mannequin.

I can see that people still sell old clothes on eBay and others do but them too. However I have never sold my old clothes online. I always give them in charity or other people.

I have heard of many sites that are doing this. And I know many people that are doing this. This is good way to get rid of you old staff and also you can earn some extra cash.

If you have some good old clothes, you can sell them on Ebay. Just make your own account. There is also OLX, but not sure if it is available outside Southeast Asia. You might walso want to try selling them on Etsy or Shopify. Another easy way to sell them is though Facebook.

Seling used clothes online works. The only thing is that they should be in a good condition for the buyer also to enjoy a good thing.
You can advertise online to your social media friends and take a picture of the clothes to help them understand beter then they will buy. This tutorial works.

You can sell it anywhere online it mustn't necessarily be on market places like EBay or Esty.you can sell them on Facebook, I have sold a couple of stuff on Facebook, just make a little write up about it and upload the photos alongside the write-ups and people that's need it will inbox you about it.

Instagram is another good place, make a video of them and upload to Instagram, you'll be surprised at the amount of people that would indicate interest. You could also tweet about them on Twitter.

So you can see you don't have problem where to sell but I think you should be kind enough to give them out.

There is an app called Letgo. I feel that it is better. There is no hassle in trying to sell old clothes or unwanted items in your house whole. It is very to set up with this company.
