We don't have ebay in our country anymore. So we are forced to look for alternatives like quikr and OLX. But those can be pretty frustrating in most cases. So I have been searching for some of the people who are selling items on twitter, facebook and pinterest. And trying to find out if I can do the same. Most of the people list the items on the social media page and take the inquiry through phone and ship the item or hand over locally after getting payment. Looks like a good model to me, but slow compared to ecommerce models.

Anyone you know or yourself have tried this social media selling business model?

This is not a new model alot of people are using it and I'm sure they are succeding that's why they are still on it after so many years. Facebook is one good platform for marketing small low cost items. You will need to create awareness not just on your page but on related groups and pages to get a wider coverage for patronage.

Yes. I have tried this social media selling model. Its actually a common thing now, I see a variety of products on social platforms like Facebook, Instagram and you make orders. The goods will then be delivered to you at a stated time.
Facebook is one of the best place for marketing,I have use this social media so many times for marketing and I have made alot of profit with the plartform help, the fastes means is to use the paid advertising services

Not just facebook now, lots of people sell small and low cost goods on WhatsApp too and I can tell you they are succeeding and I know that because more people are doing the same so social media is a good platform to sell your products

i was working in an e-commerce group, where you have to sell some products for a profit, and i can tell you that facebook plays a very important role, especially that the stores existed in a lot of countries

I hear people talking about Facebook Market where you can sell items. But I honestly can't see it anywhere and I've looked. I get the feeling it's not yet available in my country, which is a shame because I do believe the people here would happily use it.

I've not seen the Facebook marketplace facility but I've certainly seen people I know using Facebook to sell some of their old clothes and household items that they no longer have a use for. I've even seen people advertising their cars when they're leaving the country. I guess it works.

I have ever tried social media selling, but it was through Whatsapp. I was selling shoes and dresses for students in the campus where I study. It was great because I had ready market and delivery was easy around the campus.

You have made a better writeup here selling item on facebook is very possible and you said you market your product via whatsapp on campus, how many item do you market?facebook is the best and better so you can try selling on facebook but ensure you have some money for advert.

I have sold many items on Facebook. Its quite easy and there are many ways to go about it. Firstly, ensure you have large followers. Then post on your timeline and put your contacts. Its quite easy.

Yeah, it is so easy to sell on facebook. Especially since it is so easy to get friends and followers there. When you have so many of them, it is easy to get market for your products.

This is a very great job online retailers do nowadays. I don't do some but I have heard it is very profitable. This is because they mostly get their customers through freelancing and there fore don't always incur much loses from promotion.

facebook as a whole is a great plartform for marketing,if you are using facebook for marketing or selling product always ensure that you have good source of traffic to aid you with the selling the more people that see your product the more sell that you will get.

The market place has been useful on Facebook. Jumia too has been delivering quality products but it only deliver within Nigeria and Ghana, any other citizen out of these two countries might not be able to use it.

Yeah, Jumia has been really great platform to do online shopping. It works in my country, Kenya too. In fact, it is growing so much and they do home deliveries in almost 6 towns now.

I think the social media business marketing strategy is okay and i think the one i am currently using is jiji i think and i make use of it for products advertisement

Okay, that is great, l never knew it was also providing services over there. I know maybe as time goes on, it will expand to many countries especially in Africa.

Yeah, I also believe that Jumia will keep growing. With time, it will grow and become available for most African countries. Their services are so great and convenient.

Yeah, their services are really great and convenient. Even though we are in the period of pandemic, they don't delay much with delivery services like some others do because of the pandemic.

I am user of facebook but I don't know how some one can use it to sell their items. For me it is just a platform for meeting peoples. I join some groups but I am thinking that peoples are not serious at FB.
