That is a good introductory price. I know one web hosting site which offers $1 for the initial subscription or purchase of domain name and a hosting facility. Of course, the buyer or the website owner/admin is a happy about that cheap price for a domain.

I don't know if it would only last for a quarter, for half a year or a year. But the point is every renewal period the price is gradually increasing. Any reaction to that?

Usually those special offers are only for the first year so when the user wants to renew it after a year, it will be the normal price of the domain. I think it's a fair promotion. The price doesn't tend to increase every renewal period, if you renew it in time it will only be the normal price of the domain that you paid previously. There may be slight increases in the price but that may just be because of VAT increases.

Anyway, this domain has now been sold :)
