Without any intros, let's get straight to the topic :

1-Fake promises (Join and get, invite your friend and get, click here for ) : i have noticed a lot and a lot of people promoting such bullsh*t literally everywhere, even in facebook comments, they claim they got 5000$ worth of BTC from a telegram bot or they ask you to pm me some dude ( that they claim he's a hacker ) for money in paypal .

2-Too many beginners : (unfortunately they are victims that still don't know that internet is full of scammers or not aware of that), and those beginners themselves help promoting the scams everywhere thinking they will win something . (remember, don't share your email with anyone who claims he'll send you money, money isn't easy and nobody will pay you from his own wallet).

3-No Pain, No Gain : which means, without having a skill or a service that you can offer, you won't be earning that much from internet, all you're going to earn would be like extra cash (beermoney), that what pushes people to believe everything and what also can attract newbies, because at the end they won't work in a website that pays 0.0001$ per ad and leave the "X" website that pays you 500$ for every friend you invite ;)

If you have any other reason that contributes in the popularity of scam websites/apps, post them below, so we can work together to eliminate them all at once !

Well, maybe temporarily profitable if you can call it that. You are right though about some who are just too lazy to be bothered about research coupled with greed.

I'm also not sure scams are profitable because of the few that are, it's only fleeting, I think to lull members into a false sense of security. They're smart and know that if they pay a small handful of people, word will get around that it's a legit paying site, at which point they swoop in and scam the rest. I agree laziness and greed play a huge role in people falling prey to these scams.

Right! They give them the chance to cash out once or twice, so that even people see the payment proofs and flock in. This mode of operation has been working and sadly, it will probably keep working.

They know times are hard and a lot of people are struggling to survive hence the reason why this people are capitalizing on the hardship people are facing. It is quite unfortunately

It comes down to naivety to some degree. everyone wants to get rich quick. After getting burned a few times people usually learn but if your first time getting burned costs you your life savings then that's not so good.

Most people online are lazy honestly, they just want to make money while sleeping and no proper planning on how the money will come passively. People learn more about when they are scamed.

To an extent I still feel someone who is facing hardships should be more careful how they put out the little they have in the name of investments that only lead to loss.

You're right - when you can barely find two pennies to rub together, you really ought to be a lot more careful. However, not everyone thinks like you and me. Some people are so desperate, they let the promise of riches, no matter how absurd, blind them - and that's when these scammers swoop in and exploit them.

The summary of the reason why people are scammed online is greed. Scammers scan because they are greed and wants to make quick money and people fall into it because of greed too

Your summary is very right and as @Bushbaby7 has rightly said, desperation is also part of it. Greedy and desperate people fall victim quicker than others.

Thanks, mate ? Sadly, I think sometimes people are driven by the $$$ signs and lose their minds at the prospect of earning truckloads with a minimum of fuss. Even if someone promises them $1500 per week for not doing much, some people would fall for it, not seeing it sounds way too good to be true - I always says if it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is.

I am even more saddened when those that have been online for long are scammed. Their experience online seems to have not guided them well. Some have had many encounters yet they are still falling victim to it

We just need to be extra sensitive to some sites or investment platforms because the way they package their site can easily lure people in to scam them.

Yeah, same here! I think sometimes people become complacent and forget that not all the sites out there have the best intentions. I'm actually embarrassed to confess I was recently scammed as well- I've been working online for many years now and know the signs. I don't even like paying to join any site. But I read very good reviews about this teaching site, so I went ahead and paid to be listed there.

Guess what? They turned around and claimed they couldn't list me because they hadn't received payment. I sent them screenshots of my Paypal payment, at which point they shut down my account ? ? I'm putting together a very site review of the site and will post it across quite a few review sites and any of the sites I'm a member of to warn off others. I'm not even angry, just disappointed in myself for having been so trusting.

Sorry about that. However, it makes me wonder how those good reviews got out there in the first place. Maybe the site was genuine at the beginning then later turned scam.

Some sites are like that, they start well before they ended up as scam most times as a result of shortage of funds to sustain the site. So the initial reviews keep them growing just like answeree .

Thanks, mate ? ? Yes, there's every chance it was a good site that then turned scammy later down the line. OR those are cooked up reviews they've cobbled together themselves or even paid people to put out there for them!

Yes, it's a very well known scam strategy, if you can even call it that?? Some of these sites will operate legitimately for a few months so they can lure as many unsuspecting members as possible. Before you know it, the scamming begins, while you all scratch your heads wondering what happened. Been there, done that, sadly ?

Yeah, that could be a possibility but wouldn't want to think that since you said it was a teaching site. Scams are less rampant with such sites at least not from the onset.

But honestly, I feel like I should have listened more to my gut instinct. I saw the site and thought the branding was a bit 'funky' - and NOT in a good way?? The platform wasn't all that either. But I guess being from a Tier 3 country with limited opportunities, sometimes you just get caught up in the idea of finding opportunities ?‍♀️?
