❓ASK Promoting your music?

There's so many musicians in the world, for a beginner will be very tough to get the song a lot of awareness. Which are the best ways to promote your own music nowadays?

Bandcamp.com is a good way to promote and get noticed. Like soundcloud, they make it possible for the artist to directly reach the consumer with their muslc. From the web site:
"Fans have paid artists $143 million using Bandcamp, and $4.3 million in the last 30 days alone."

A lot of artists still use iTunes, or a place called CdBaby, and some even still use Myspace just for the music end of being seen and listened to. Facebook remains a good place for music artists to be seen, as does youtube. I've heard mostly good things about Bandcamp, so I'd give it a try if you're looking to promote music you've made.

Second Bandcamp. Facebook is great as well, so long as you have a bunch of supportive friends and make an effort to meet like-minded musicians. YouTube can work, but it's an extremely crowded marketplace, so your music needs to really stick out. Any forum like this place that's themed towards music can be handy for spreading the word, as well, and you can usually get helpful tips and criticisms that will improve your musical game.

You could also play local gigs for free for a while, if you're creating that kind of music, but going online requires less effort and / or exploitation.

Using YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other social networks can be a good place to start with advertising your music. They're good ways to get your music seen by potential fans. Twitter especially I find to be quite good. I've become a fan of several bands that just randomly followed me on there one day for example. Having a link to your music in your bio is a good idea on those sorts of sites.

I'd also agree that Bandcamp can be a good place to promote your music. It seems to be a good place where fans can find music they like and you can find fans.

In the past I've heard good things about SliceThePie and Soundcloud as well although whether they're as good as they used to be I have no idea.

From what I heard, there is this thing called independent label where you can join a group of indie musicians to help promote your songs. They also have a store where their music is sold at a cheap price. But if you will ask me, you can promote almost anything (legal) in the social media. And if you have a lot of active friends then you will easily get an audience. And from thereon you can get a good headstart.

Sосiаl mеdiа is а tеrrifiс plаtfоrm tо intеrасt with yоur fаns. А nеw pоpulаr mеthоd оf еngаgеmеnt is аsking yоur fоllоwеrs tо intеrprеt yоur musiс аnd inviting thеm intо thе сrеаtivе prосеss. Well there is certainly one thing that music has on writing that cannot be underestimated when it comes to getting the word out, and that is of course the fact that you can have it on in the background and not really have to tell the user that they are receiving it. It sounds devious I know, but when applied I am just saying that you can use it as background music and then it is just there to be absorbed without any effort. I would say just feature it as much as you can in scenarios like this.

I agree that making the public interact with you is a good way to get more people to discover your work. Youtube can also work to promote your music, as a lot of people rely on them, but it can be hard to get noticed under so many new videos. You can also try Loudr.

YouTube can be a perfect place to promote your music. Upload it on YouTube, then promote it to social media.
You can also try uploading them on streaming sites/apps like Spotify and others.

Promoting music can be done in two ways paid and the free means.you can do the free promotions using your social media. If you're not on social media you can sign-up for,it quite free.upload the song on you-tube and use the sharing button to share to your other social media platform like Google plus,Facebook, twitter and whatapp,it could just be a track and then direct people on the site to buy the whole album.

There are sites that are free for music promotion, you could upload or share the link on such sites.

For the paid ones you could pay music blogs to advertise your music especially the very popular blogs.

Soundcloud and Spotify are two places where the music can be placed for free. And there are some users who are also charging for the music as well. I have seen some of the trance artists are also keeping their digital sets there and they charge few dollars for the download which is not bad idea of monetization.

The biggest place you can share your music is on social media platforms, join groups that you have your target audience and post your links there to create awareness. You can please with your celebrities to post your link on their pages. Just keep sharing your links everywhere possible online.

Try promote using Youtube. Until you get some call for sing in live, you can monetize your Youtube channel. People often share good music on social media so you can get views=cash.

Hundreds of videos are posted to YouTube every second, so the chance of someone finding your video is not very big. Well, at least not if you're a small creator.

YouTube could perhaps be a good platform to host your music, but you'll have to promote your channel on other sites in order to get subscribers.

Also, in order to be able to monetize the videos you have to have at least 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 month. Let's say you make a song that's three minutes long. Then you'll need 80,000 views in order to be able to monetize it!

I'd recommend going heavy on Social Media as (great) music works wonders. There are a couple of things that are hygiene and I'm sure you would've started on quite a few of these.
  1. Make sure you have a blog (Wordpress/Blogspot) where you are sharing more about your music.
  2. Be active on Sound cloud. Make sure it is connected with your blog.
  3. Facebook page is a must. Lot of music sharing happens on Facebook.
  4. Youtube. Create music videos.
  5. Try also Twitter, Instagram and snapchat.

True but songs are often repeated on Youtube, added into playlist. I think Youtube don't count every replay as new view if you didn't refresh page with song.

Big music artists are using YouTube now for their song promotion, and it is working perfectly out for them with a lot of views and subscribers. So create a channel for yours too.

I have a band called Uorax, and I have just started to promote our music, let me say that creating accounts in promoting websites is but a 1% of the work laying ahead, the views in our YouTube channel is mostly from our mothers. A combination between online and offline promotion is the way to go. Like anything else, I'm improvising my way through it.

try to create your own facebook page, and make it a celebrity page since you can compose music. also setup a separate twitter where you get to post your own composition with free guitar chords so you can encourage playing it as well.
