why a lot of programming languages exist when they literally do the same thing ?

i guess there are a lot, but they aren't the same, every language has its pros and cons, so the users can have the ability to choose which one to go for, so at the end, it's a user opinion's matter

I am not much of a programmer, but I have some insights on programming languages due to school. Programming languages mostly created with a goal in mind, and are improved towards that goal (and I am not talking about the Chicken programming language here). Different languages have different capabilities, while some aim to be the Swiss knife which with you can do (nearly) anything. Other languages are built on top of an already existing languages, and there are also difference in the ease of learning of a given language (which mostly comes with a price in capabilities).

For example, you can write an application in C, that will run on the platform you compiled it on, but not on others. If you write an application with the same functionality in Java, that will run on nearly any platform, because of the architecture of Java (and for the same reason, it will probably be slower).

Concept with logical implementation varies and so does for quality and user acceptance thats why PHP seems better than ASP (ASP is quite slower you will notice some websites .aspx page and much slower than .php pages. Again C is better than Java in commanding devices and assembly languages are better than C in doing so. With time, frameworks battle within same language too. Old time OsCommerce was popular ecommerce open source framework but with time zen cart, prestashop, opencart, magento, woocommerce evolved in PHP framework battle in ecommerce zone. For non ecommerce zone Laravel and Symphony seems best along with wordpress.

Some are designed with flexibility in mind, while other are focusing more on complexity and full features. A handful of programming languages are created for beginners. While creating your own programming language can also be used to show off your programming skills and build portfolio.

Functional languages are exceptionally good for calculations. They also have the advantage of practically eliminating the possibility of getting into incoherent computation state (as truly functional computation only has one). Programming languages are tools; programmers are craftsmen who use them to build solutions.

you are really wrong they don't do the same thing every language has a field this is why you need to learn a lot of them also there is programming language for softwares then other for Web and others for apps, you see the difference

True my friend, they are not the same, each have its own function and process and even language, they may offer the same thing quite alright though

I would really love to learn how to program, i find pleasure in it but the fund is what is stopping me, in the near future i will

Okay but you don't even understand that getting data to learm tutorial online is a problem to me, data os not cheap in my country, and i do not have much at the moment

Okay if that is the case fine, the only thing i can tell you right about now is just that that is the only easy olace i think anyone can learn, okay

Programming language are not the same they have different ways to achieve different purposes and each language has its own advantages and disadvantage

This actually is a very good question because JavaScript can be used to develop the back end of a website and so is PHP. They are both server-side programming language but that does not mean that it is everything that JavaScript can do that you can be able to build on PHP. For example PHP is normally employed for social media chatting applications because of how it supports real-time data update.

Programming languages have different purposes, which is why there is a wide variety of programming languages available. Some languages are better suited for a certain task than others, and others are better suited for other tasks. In addition, some languages offer several features that other languages do not, such as the ability to support different hardware configurations, the ease of coding syntax, and improved performance.
