This is most annoying type of advertising and conversion is freaking low, I'd rather use CPM, however CPC is best. ;)
 
Yes.. Obviously popup ads will get more conversions.. Compared to pop unders.. Visitors always close the popunders with out even looking it.. But with popups there are better chances of clicks and conversions..

Don't forget popups are more annoying. I think it's better conversion with pop-unders. People will watch it later right before close.
 
I think,that pop unders are not so annoying to the visitors,if you have a website or blog.I think pop ups are more bothering,so if you want that your visitors don't quit your websites fast,better place other type of ads,if it possible.Although if your website is interesting ,might stay,even if there are pop ups or pop unders.
 
personally I would still go for pop up since the moment they click on your site or blog it triggers the ads automatically opening in a new tab which the viewers can not escape from (lol) but though they are annoying as long as your blog/site contains the necessary info or details they seek (unless other sites can provide then there is tendency that they will look for some alternatives) but if your site/blog is much of interests to some viewers pop ups won't be a big deal since I myself landed on sites that I am interested with but sometimes with pop up ads.
 
I would go with pop under, pop ups are more annoying. It's then up to the visitor if they want to click on the advert. Both are frustrating though.
 
Pop under ads rarely catch me for the first time but pop up always catch my attention but sometimes it is annoying when the ads is not relevan.. I rather pop up then pop under and that is from my point of view.. Others may differ...
 
Popups are good for earning but some time it is not good for all, I mean some of the visitors still use older versions of device, browsers so it will affect them and sometimes site will be down
 
This is one of the most annoying group of advertisements and I do not even bother using it in my website. It brings a lot of money but I would rather prefer banner ads.
 
The good old banner or sponsored posts are the best. Both pop ups and pop unders are universally hated by most people, and many are already using ad blocker that mostly blocks the most intrusive ads like these two. Look at Reddit, their promoted post or ad post integrated nicely with the rest of the website without being obnoxious and obscuring visitors' view.
