They are . recently I was charged up to 4$ for a bitcoin transaction of 2$ and this really scared me because it seems o was charged two times what I sent out . though I was told that it may be from the wallet am using .

The best is to use a wallet where you own the private keys and can set the fee yourself, so you can just check websites like https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/, where you can see the average fee (satoshis/byte) and send with that fee from your wallet.

OK thank you very much for the information. I have also received another wallet option from Mr B ( block chain wallet ) Am going to open it . he has confirmed low charge and its security. Maybe later I will now try the the site

I would recommend a wallet where you actually own the private keys when you have a bit more experience with cryptos, like Electrum (desktop wallet) or Mycelium (mobile wallet), as having your private keys is always safer than depending on a 3rd party to hold your coins.
