This Wednesday Paypal announced that from 2021 it will offer payments in cryptocurrencies.
Finally Paypal announced what many expected and longed for, the entrance of this giant to the world market of cryptocurrencies
Now customers can use cryptocurrencies to make their purchases from any merchant.
Merchants will only receive fiat currencies, as Paypal will handle the conversion
The currencies that will initially be supported to make payments will be Bitcoin (BTC), ETHER (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).
In order to execute all of this, Paypal partnered with Paxos and obtained its license from the New York State Department of Financial Services, better known as BitLicense.

that will actually change a lot, what do you think will be the fate of the other cryptocurrency platforms and will people be interested to use paypal again?

I think it will be really good for paypal and crypto. Paypal is simple and people trust it. Many people are still skeptical of crypto. I think that it will attract new people to crypto and as more people start to accept payments in digital currencies people will choose paypal to transact with. On the other hand, Square (cash app) offers crypto and it has not made a serious difference in their business yet but I think that's because crypto still has a long way to go before it is a mainstream payment option.

This is good but I hope this wouldn't call for a hard verification set up because it took me time before I was able to verify my account

Their strict regulation and ban-happy behaviour still the same though. I expect more bans from Paypal now because crypto users who are already accustomed to lax regulation won't find the same treatment from Paypal.

You dont say,my paypal offers partial services in my country.Anybody who can ckarify if tgey have implemented the crypto feature and as to how the experience is?

How do they offer partial service in your country ? , Am not sure if they have implemented it because have not seen any updates since then

I saw this and I thought it's a great idea. The only thing that I don't like is that it seems like we will still not be able to buy crypto using Paypal, we will only be able to deposit crypto into our PayPal accounts or I may be wrong?

I think it was set up only to receive PayPal funds and convert to crypto currencies then transfer to your wallet but I don't know if buying

However, from what has been said, this system will enter for Paypal, starting from next 2021.
Indeed, currently I have checked my account, everything is still as before.
May be they are trying to set everything up so they won't be want form of bug and mistakes in the process that might have been the reason for the delay

This is excellent news for me.
This is because I have my Paypal account connected to my VISA debitcard.
Thank you.
Now you know that you can pay with cryptocurrencies, I don't really know if you can buy cryptocurrencies with your credit card, but this news had a strong influence on the rise in BTC

I agree with you 100%, but Paypal has more than 350 million clients and is the main payment gateway in the world. The good thing is that Paypal joined the crypto world and this news catapulted the price of BTC

i don't think everyone do, a lot of people were pushed to use other alternative platforms just because they got banned out of nowhere, i believe that there are clear rules and guidlines, but people sometimes do some mistakes not on purpose and end up getting hardely punished

That's awesome then I hope they create a new site as PayPal wallet so as to enable us Cryptos lovers use it.For example my account with PayPal was locked so I can't access it anymore. So my wish is they have a different website to deal with Cryptos only ,where you can trade bitcoin as well you can transact.Another thing is linking with the bank it could be easier if you just verify your address and identity. Paypal limits me a lot and most banks in my country are not linked to it.

and some of the fees are pretty high but they have a decent market share nonetheless.

Paypal itself is already like an online wallet, they simply integrate crypto functions to their platform, there's no need for separated wallet.
