In a recent development, according to ladbible.com, PayPal is set to charge accounts that have been inactive for the past 12 months a fee of £12. This charge is probably to reduce the number of dormant accounts on the processor. Those who have their banks accounts linked to PayPal account will be charged directly from their accounts and those not linked but have some amount on their balance may have it set to zero if it is less than the amount to be charged.
It is also reported that accounts opened in Ireland will be exempted from this and personal accounts registered in Hungary are exempted also.

I created an account with PayPal but base on the fact that we can't withdraw or recieve payment it has been dormant so I wouldn't know if the account will be deleted.

There is actually the option to close the account if you really want to. I wonder also how this will affect those that may not be eligible for all the services PayPal offers.

This is quite unfair . Was there a prior warning to dormant account before passing out this new law ? .
This might affect them negatively as some of the account owners that will be affected will sue them or leave the company entirely

I don't think it is a bad one , some people just create account without using them so this will discourage them , if I have the opportunity I will close my account with PayPal.

Yeah! According to the report, account owners will be given 2/3 reminders before the fees are deducted and this new development will probably take effect before the month runs out.

It is likely that this update will make more users to be more active with their account henceforth especially those that have funds in them.

Some may not have been using it because they do not have money to put it , or has no need for it all the while it was vacant , why punish such person's , why not close the account after sending reminder emails ?

This is bad, well currently my account has no balance but i wish it wouldn't have a negative Balance in it.. i've seen someone has a negative balance.

I don't think they can do anything to such person because if there is no money in there they can't deduct but any time the person recieves money he will be charged.

Actually , they can deduct the money directly from their bank account , because they linked their bank account to their PayPal.
This is the aspect that may lead to issues

That's true , the one I opened I didn't have the previledge to link my bank account so I am definitely covered in this regard.

This is really bad and i guess Paypal are really seeing the amount of inactive accounts increasing , since many are now using crypto as payment methods

This is very likely the problem, it is better they have active database than having huge data base when majority are in active, I support the move by PayPal.

guess that might be true, but they've added cryptp currencies into paypal as well so that was a really great move by them, but i guess you can't withdraw it yet so there's that for now.

I think by next year they are planning on putting the full features so that people can trade crypto currencies and make more money i think

is it gonna be like binance where you trade with other people and the site takes a commision or do you directly buy from paypal with theyr own rates?

I think there might not be like peer2peer trading on binance , but am sure it would available on the site to trade crypto currencies and earn more money
