Stay aways from this payment processor, after I got couple chargebacks on eBay they blocked/ frozen my account, I cannot open my Paypal account, money are blocked, my small business is ruined. And they ignore my messages. Fuc* you PayPal!

I have never had negative experiences with Paypal. I use that payment processor mainly for ebay (I'm a buyer) and have received many refunds from sellers without any problems. But yes, I've read some people have gotten their PP account and money frozen - that's why I never keep big sums there..

I have read some stories online about this happening. Personally I haven't had a problem with paypal and have always found them helpful.
My advice is don't give up, keep contacting them sooner or later you will get into contact with them.

I've been using PayPal for a number of years now and I've never had any problem to be honest. I was using it for daily transactions and after a couple of weeks, processing around $500 I was asked to verify my account and I did.

A few months later after the PayPal account had been used for a couple of thousands worth if dollars, I was asked to prove my identity by sending either a copy of my driving licence or passport which I duely did, and I've never had to do anything since.

I did once have a security issue but that was dealt with quickly and efficiently and what money lost, was quickly refunded by them, so I can't complain at all.

Well I would certainly not go that far, but then again my experiences with PayPal have been nothing but fine. I do not use it for all that much though, and so I can see where some people might have more of an issue with it. If it comes to my money, if any site is messing with it then I would certainly have a much different opinion of them, so I cannot blame anyone for feeling that way. I would like to think that they have good customer support system, but who knows at this point.

I also have never had any problem with PayPal personally. I have only one negative thing to say about it and that is the customer care is really lacking, otherwise it is a very good payment method. My money is usually secure.

I am sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you and hope it is sorted out.

When I desperately needed to send someone money once, paypal suddenly locked my account due to "suspicious activity". Wouldn't let me verify by phone, and it took me 3 hours to re-open my account the next day by phone.

The thing is though, a lot of the problems people have are due to security issues, and you have to understand that PayPal are doing it for all the right reasons.

Asking for verification of ID and locking accounts is a way of protecting people and in a way, although it can be inconvenient, could also stop you from being scammed if the activities are suspicious.

If I'm not mistaken, should a chargeback be filed both parties are asked to represent their case? I'm sorry to say this but if you had "a couple of chargebacks" on eBay, perhaps it's possible you did not send genuine goods, did not communicate with the customers and/or did not dispatch the goods at all?

While I can appreciate your frustration with Paypal (their customer service is plain awful), blocking an account is seldom done just "on a whim". You most likely have participated in some suspicious activities, in which case it's a good thing they blocked your account.

I didn't have a lot of problems with PayPal because their past system used to be so user-friendly. I had a little altercation with the customer service staff once because they wouldn't return the dollars they took when I linked my debit card. I let bygones and be bygones, settling for the manual bank transfer option instead with a waiting time of 2-5 business days.

So far I had no problems, from my first transaction to the most recent ones. My only concern is the new interface. It looks too complicated to navigate. Even I, a veteran PayPal user, tend to lose my way. I just hope this new interface will not present any problems.

PayPal was founded in 1998 and I have been using it since that time. In my opinion, it is the best company on the Internet (I know that my conclusion is very different than yours). I don't know why it happened to you but, I never experienced any type of problems using PayPal. It has won several awards in my country (India). Paypal India won 'Top Industry Awards for Technology'. It has also won the 'Diversity Champion Award'. Well, PayPal is a very big company. You just try to contact them again and I am sure that they will definitely solve your problem.

Paypal is the only payment method I have and it's been doing well for me regarding my needs pertaining to my online earnings. I'm not well-versed with chargebacks but I guess there is a complaint against you that's why Paypal was forced to freeze your account. And I don't think they have a right to just block your account for no reason at all and with that no response from them, maybe you have to be diplomatic.

I wouldn't say Paypal is the worst company on the internet even though I have some funds frozen in account. I used a fake name [dumb, yeah]. One day using a proxy I logged into the account and got one of their emails the next day notifying me of suspicious activity. I was asked to change my password and send them a photo-ID. I couldn't because I used that fake name.

Don't provide fake account info and you'll be relatively safe.

Yikes, I'm very sorry to hear about that. It is indeed quite unfair in your case. But I did not know that PayPal can block or ban your account if you get multiple chargebacks. Not to mention lose all your money in it! Is that really the case? If your account gets banned, you can't withdraw? Then what is the remedy for the user? In my case, PayPal is the only online payment method that reliably works. Almost everyone uses it, so it's a must to have a verified account with PayPal. Good thing PayPal's been good to me.

I love PayPal to the moon and back. It's one of the most secure internet payment-services that many swore to. Personally I've never had any problems with PayPal and your case is one of the rare ones. You should try to call them instead of just sending an email because sometimes they may just to ignore them without really meaning it - or probably they did answer but you didn't saw the response e.g. you accidentally moved it to trash file.

Seeing as the majority of other posts on the thread are sticking up for, and supporting PayPal, I guess it just goes to show that it all comes down to your own user experience.

While it's often helpful to read and listen to reviews, at the same time you can see just how biased they could be.

I haven't had any bad experiences from this processor. I hate the fact that they deduct a fee from every transaction I make but then that's their policy.

Other than that it has been working just fine for me.
