When PayPal was popular with cryptocurrency users in the US, it expanded its operations to the UK. PayPal manager Jonathan Auerbach said they will spread cryptocurrency transactions across the UK within a few months.
What do you think of the PayPal initiative, would it make a positive contribution to the markets?

When I saw other countries I was thinking it is will outside the tier 1 countries but it still good. I hope they will also consider African countries especially Nigeria

The ideal thing for Paypal users would be for it to extend its range of commercial operations to the largest number of countries and especially to the African community.

I doubt if PayPal would extend their services to Africa now.

They have been reluctant about it for a long while, but it would boost their market if they do so.

Paypal must reorient its markets and this is a great opportunity that is presented to it to take on that challenge of expanding throughout the world if it wants to be on a par with other wallets that have already included bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their transactions.

That's my request too, Nigeria is giant of Africa Lol so it should be recognized and the services extended to since we got good numbers already

I was hoping that PayPal's involvement with cryptocurrency was going to lead to an eventual reconciliation of PayPal no receive policy in Nigeria. With the new announcement of the ban on cryptocurrency I have to find a new hope.

You really must continue on the path of positive things and that this problem of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria will be fixed soon and that Paypal can enter that territory with its wallet.

So why do you think PayPal doesn't want to be active in Africa? I think there is no legal problem in this regard. But I agree with you that being active in this region will bring them money.

The reality of all this with Paypal is that they must be thinking about this market and must already have their financial advisors doing studies to see the feasibility of being operational there.

That is what we paypal users want to have a greater opportunity of operations worldwide and on the other hand that their rates lower than quite honorable.

Paypal is just starting, and as a regulated company, it cannot go beyond the law.
Even in UK, it have to follow the law, all crypto users will be informed to government if government ask.

Yeah it means no hope in sight for us, so we now still need to find a better alternative means of getting our online earnings. Unless an admin is willing to pay directly into one's bank account

I agree with you that Paypal has to be regulated according to the law of each country, the best of all this is that the company has already enrolled in the world of cryptocurrencies and that this brings benefits to its customers.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in Oct 2019, banned cryptocurrency Derivatives and Exchange-Traded-Notes (ETNs). Although ban on ETNs came into effect in January this year; I am not sure about ban on Derivatives and other trading like Spot.

What do you think is the alternative, because as of now it is impossible to withdraw or deposit bitcoin through Nigerian exchange sites, I have some bitcoin and altcoins and I'm trying to figure out how to exchange them for fiat if and when I want to.

We Indians are also using it, so we too want that it will also give us this facility. In these days we are earning it, but converting it is our currency is problem for us.

If you are a Nigerian you can try Nairaland exchanges you might be lucky there. You would be paid directly into your bank account if you see one to exchange. But be careful scammers are there

The good thing about all this that Paypal is doing when introducing cryptocurrencies in their transactions is that users have more diversity of currencies with which they can carry out their operations, which brings its economic benefits to both the company and the users.
