You only have to pay taxes for your online income with the irs if you earn $600 a year or more.I think the irs is required to send you a 1099 form if that is the case.I have never paid taxes for my online income.

I think 600 dollars a month isn't a bigger amount as I know many are even earning more then 100 dollars in a month so they are earning double but I think it's different for different countries. Still thanks for sharing this with us.

I guess indirectly we pay tax in my country cos the bank doesn't pay the complete amount requested for when conversion from $ to my local currency is being done

This is what happens with Indian users. Even if we are not paying any direct tax on our online earnings, PayPal is deducting an amount of tax from our earnings, so we are paying it Indirectly.

You are right, but I guess that deduction is where makes it money, it not tax but does Indian banks also deduct money whenever you make withdrawal of your earnings

My country does not even have such strict laws on online workers. Online working is tax free, no matter how much is earned. The only form of tax may be in the conversion rate, for which is indirect tax.

Here in my country, the government does not charge any tax for online workers. The bank fees for withdrawals is the only fee that we need to pay when working online. But if an individual is working online for a local company(homebased works), then our government will charge the usual tax just like on offline workers.

This is true. I am a Filipino too. The only thing that people like us who earn money online should deal with are the banking fees, and paypal fees. However, we are indirectly helping the economy too. And, there is this VAT (lol) that we pay.

I am from India. I hardly earn anything great that attracts tax in my country. However the paypal is taxing us by deducting some service charges. Since we can't keep our money in Paypal for more time, whatever paypal gets from the sites it transfers the amount to our bank account that we are having in India. Since I don't take out the money from the bank it is added to my total income and it attracts the tax as per the rules laid out by indian Government at the end of the finacial year when we compute our taxes. But I need not pay a separate tax for my online income otherwise! Thanks!
Very likely the kind of tax you pay in India is a pay as you earn type tax, which is not bad. I am not sure if bank deduct any tax from my money except their charges.

I have never experienced paying taxes for my online income since I am just earning less from because I mainly do it during my spare time. Besides in my country it is not yet a rules to pay for it when you are earning online.

I'm also in the same boat. I had one job from UpWork where I earned $750. I don't remember reading anything from the law stating that online earners have to pay taxes. Only the deduction from Paypal is the only fee I pay which is nice. I guess this is one advantage of being a freelancer.

It is good that my government is not charging us for some taxes for our online earnings because if it happens it will be very hard for us to earn more especially for those online earners that are not big time earners.

You should always read your actual country's tax laws, because it may be very different from other countries. For example in my country we have to pay taxes of 17,76% above annual incomes of $2100.

You are lucky that you have to pay taxes only when you earn more than $600. Your government is still considerate. My government recently said they will start tracking our online income because we do not pay taxes for this. people here hate paying taxes unless there is a way they can be tracked. I have not been paying and sorry to say that I will not until the government starts monitoring us. I guess if they do so, we will have to pay taxes for every cent earned. This will be a hard one for us but there is nothing else we can do.

I am still optimistic that my government will not impose any tax from online earners since it is not yet so popular in my country. There are only few people now who are depending their source of income to some online jobs since most people in my country have their own offline job.

I think it would be tolerable;e to imposed taxes for those online earners that are earning big from their online jobs but not those people that are earning less from it because it will just make them unmotivated to work for their online sites.
