❕NEWS Paraguayan Lawmakers Present a Very Different Bitcoin Bill Than Expected

Last week, a group of Paraguayan MPs introduced a "Bitcoin bill" in the National Congress, but it turned out to be rather different from what crypto enthusiasts had hoped for. The measure aims to regulate and manage cryptocurrency transactions as well as impose taxes. The proposal makes no mention of designating bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to be legal money.

This is one of the reason why I am not comfortable with the whole situation of regulating cryptocurrency by the government of countries

It would be expected that they would want to regulate it. However, taxing it would negatively affect users, especially those who would simply use it for transactions.

Personally I don't think cryptocurrencies will escape regulations and tax if government agencies will have to accept it as legal tender or legalize it usage.

So they never intended to accept it legally but just milk money out of people who uses them? They first should do something for them though

That is so unfortunate, they don't accept it as legal money yet they want to benefit from it through government revenue. This is the reason why I think cryptocurrencies should just remain decentralized and unregulated.

Only if it is accepted as legal tender, what illiterate Peruvian law maker doesn't know is, no tax can be legally collected if that is not a legal business.

No government would accept bitcoin without making profit. Imposing tax and regulations of cryptocurrency is definite. Let see if it will favour users if government does the way they have planned

Govt will not make it, Bitcoin and other cryptos will require diffrent wallets, and corrupt will take it; any tax collected in crypto have to be sold too, behat they will do?

I guess even some Paraguayans would be disappointed by this bill since there was an expectation of bitcoin adoption which would have gone very well with taxation and regulations.
Definitely some will be disappointed while some will praise the law maker decision on cryptocurrencies because the percentage of those that understand cryptocurrencies is still low.

Well you won the lottery with your money so you need to pay the tax that's pretty fine to be honest actually in my opinion . tax and tax

The bill is very much complex ,I hope introducing tax won't drive away some investing ,and with the way they are regulating and managing transaction , I hope it's not breach on crypto anonymity

If the tax is not too high it will only shake the market for a while and later everything will be fine. I don't their government will be that hard on cryptocurrency users.

Governments should always remember that they cannot fully regulate cryptocurrencies they can only regulate it to an extent, and cryptocurrencies was always created and meant to be not regulated

The aim of creating cryptocurrency to be anonymous and free from regulation would have been achieved if the system is not being misused or abused by criminals.

I saw this information earlier on and I said this wasn't the expected information. Tax imposition for what exactly. Well I hope it wouldn't be too high for the people. Let hope that legalization I'd still in the agenda

This article is not really explicit enough,no details on what what said by the MP and no conviction on while the legal tender should not be implemented.
