Yes the page speed is one of the 200+ ranking factors. If your website is wordpress based I suggest a plugin to increase page loading speed.
If is not then I recommend to test your website speed and those tools will tell you why your loading speed is low, often reason is big images, however there might be other reason as well, ad networks can cause this too. If you can share the website we can take a look. Hope this help you!
