Ledger wallet holders are receiving unknown e-mails from anonymous users asking them for bitcoin and if they didn't comply then there would be consequences. One ledger user received an e-mail where a guy wanted $500 in bitcoin and if the user didn't pay, he would show up at his house and beat him up. The anonymous guy even knew his address so that's scary. However, the wallet holders are not paying attention to these e-mails and saying that they're basically FAKE. Ledger was involved in a data breach not too long ago where the addresses and e-mails of users were leaked. I don't know how Ledger is planning on fixing this...

why don't they inform the police ? threatening people is also a crime, and not everyone thinks that they are fake, some people aren't that experienced with internet, so it might affect them morally

This is a very serious security issue that unknown persons got the users mail address and make the users scary and demands money. Ledger have to fix it as soon as possible, and the criminals must arrested.
