A person made a mistake sending 800 BNB ($ 20,000) in BNB and begged Binance to help him, this transaction was made on Binance Smart Chain. In response on September 12 the CEO of Binance asked the community if they think he should help this person, he was considering helping him.
This person alleges that the exchanger is responsible for being the developer of this new chain.
This reopens the debate on such a complicated topic, reverse crypto.
Is it worth helping the person who has made a mistake or is it necessary to establish that the code is absolute law and it doesn't matter what happens to the users?

where was this 800 BNB sent to? and as far as my knowledge goes that cryptocurrency transactions are completely irreversible. if there was error in the code or something with the code then binance is at fault but if this was totally human error then the person is in fault here

I think a compensation won't really be a bad one at least some percentage of the money should be given to him . I also want that it will be possible for cryptocurrency transactions to be reversible

damn, that's a huge mistake, i hope the community helps him, because that's seriously a lot of money, i hope binance helps too and not only ask other people to help

There is serious need for reverse transactions in Crypto currencies transactions however, there is need for consideration if the CEO verify his claim to be genuine because that's a huge amount of money honestly.

well copying the transaction on various ledgers as that is how transactions of cryptocurrencies work that would mean another work for miners to reverse the transaction on all of those ledgers

This is a transaction made to a particular address so there won't be much challenges tracking this particular transaction thus if there is possibility for such reversal , I think his case will be easier

And if his claims is true , what happens ? Of course the CEO can't return back the full money to him since the money was sent to him and I don't think he has access to it

The CEO can make some donations to him likewise the buoyant and generous members of the binance community too, at least if he recover reasonable amount from donations he will be relieved.

I really hope he gets the help he needs, that is not an amount to be ignored. Makes me wonder what could have warranted such error in the first place.
the said transaction took place in binance smart contract, unless there was a problem in the smart contract the person could've committed the error. every mistake have a cost, though the cost is too much here

Does it mean he was trying to invest in smart contract on Binance but his funds was mistakenly sent out to an address outside Binance community or what?

I'm not sure and I do not know the purpose or the code of the smart contract as it is not stated in the thread post, and I don't think a big company like binance would deploy a buggy smart contract

If this mistake was solely on him, then, the more the pity. I guess the CEO and the community at large would be able to help him somehow for his sake.

yeah, like I know binance company feel for him as he lost a large amount but I think binance is still confident about their smart contract as they still ask their community for the decision, if the problem was in the smart contract they would immediately refund and fix that

To be sincere the posters information is kinda incomplete to me , the nature of mistake was not stated to enable us learn and also see if there could be possible solutions. If it was wrong address or different codes or fake Binance contract site.

I guess so, I think it is not differenct code or fake binance contract site, if that is the case I think binance wouldn't even think of helping the person as the issue happened outside of binance

Remember his account wasn't hack by any hacker so I am wondering what could be made him loose such huge amount of money.

well yeah, it wasn't mention in the thread post anywhere that he got hacked, I suspect that it was a huge human error on his side, and begging for help as he lost a huge amount on his mistake

I think the community should offer the victim some donation, may be this was his 2-3 years savings he just lose. This is just one of the reasons why we must the addresses correctly before sending funds.

I have follow up the incident and I discovered the victims out of desperation to invest in Binance smart contract sent the 800BNB to a wrong address which couldn't be tracked, so I feel he should be assisted to ease his pan.
