One of the early BTC developers lost 1.3 billion by selling early

Marti Malmi, is one of the first developers of BTC, he is also known by the nickname Sirius. He posted a tweet where he explained that he sold 55,000 mined Bitcoin in the span of 1 year.
First he sold 550 BTC for 5 dollars in 209, then he lost 30,000 Bitcoin in one of the first exchangers, then he had to sell 10,000 BTC for 5 dollars for lack of money and finally he sold 10,000 more to buy an apartment, this has been his best investment and perhaps the most expensive apartment today.
What do you think of what Malmi lost?

i wouldn't call that a loss, because he never knew that the price will be like that in the current time, lot of people sold at those times, should they regret ? no, coz they did that by that time's standards

It more of him losing out on this high rise not necessarily a loss because I know for a fact when it was sold at that time, profit was made so investing more is the deal

I think he shouldnt blame himself for such loss because life could turn opposite , assuming the bitcoin project crashed he wouldn't have been regretting by now , so he should be satisfied at least

Lol that's humans for you, we always want more and forget the opposite case. I don't think he lose anyway because he still made profit no mater how much he had initially sold his coins

He still made profit but to him the profit is very small , i think he should accept the profit and he happy he was alive to witness such increase i think

I think the lesson learned from this person is patience because if he could to hold that amount of bitcoin till now, he would have been a millionaire.
That's right, but in order to have strong hands (not to sell Bitcoin in the short or medium term) you have to have a sufficient income to cover your needs or you have to pray that an emergency does not arise

That is really true @onlyprofits. Most at times people are forced to sell off their investment because of such emergency. That is why it is always advisable we invest our spare cash and leave it for the long run to harvest much profit.
