The launch was initially scheduled for October 1, but was postponed due to other activities lined up to commemorate the country's 61st Independence Anniversary.

The apex bank's Director of Communications, Osita Nwasinobi, explained in a statement that the CBN took the decision to postpone the launch, which had been initially planned to coincide with the Independence anniversary, in deference to the mood of national rededication to the collective dream of One Nigeria.

The statement was titled, "CBN defers eNaira launch to mark Independence Anniversary".

The ban of cryptocurrency is still in place.

What is your thought?.

The e-naira has been scheduled for release on October 1,2021,the Independence day.But another communique was released countering the highly expected release of the digital currency. This is has a result of a start up company slamming the CBN with a lawsuit as regards the name e-Naira.This has caused a big delay in the release of the digital currency on October 1st.Another date has been set for the release before the year runs out when the law suit will have been settled.

Sure there is a lawsuit against CBN regarding the name but on the other hand; weren't they aware of the independence day which is a sticked date since time immemorial. Aside the lawsuit which is looking like a point about the postponement, there won't be launch again. This is their system and i can't defend them.

Nigeria my country always all mouth no action. I hope though that they will go through with it because things are really getting bad now. The economy is just too bad for everyone now

Whatever that is postponed here in Nigeria is never revisited. I bring the issue of Nigerian Airways; the plan was drawn, the logo created, settings drafted but after that we've not heard about it again.
As the eNaira missed to be launched on that first date, it is now history that never happened.

When will they remove their ban on crypto currency, Nigeria are just suppressing Job opportunities for their civillians and this is a bad situations that need to be corrected

Nigeria and disappointing; her citizen is always certain and it should be expected, I wouldn't be surprised if it take them 1 year before they get this done
Thank God you know and i can bet on the prediction you made of the project to take up to a year before been launched; the project is forgotten for good. The better we see it that way and source up another way to invest.

I have already accepted the fate and as you say it we all need to find another way to make money. That was what brought us here in the first place. Money is a scarce commodity in this country.
A very scarced one Indeed. It is not about setting up a business to get balanced but about the pocket of the customers that should be patronising your business.
A business without customers tends to loss.
Nothing works here and no platform to operate.

some stuffs work though, You can invest in cryptocurrency and buy some coins. And there are many ways to get customers, you must work on your marketing skills.
Now you've come to the side of Cryptocurrency that has been banned for months now. Guys are into the investment but pass through rigourous process to deal due to the ban that is why i said NO PLATFORM to operate.

We need to give some space to those countries for now who just can't accept cryptocurrency for payments and transactions.

Gradually, one day these countries would set their focus on bitcoins. But by then it would be a tough race..
You see what we are asking about now. You ended your line that those countries will come back. Even if they don't want to engage as a country, they should allow it's citizen by lifting the ban.

But what to do when the officials are not convinced. Then this is the only alternative to wait patiently with the hope they will adopt cryptocurrency in the country one day☺️

It didn't Stop the serious minded from doing their tyn and applying the P2P method of payment. We must continue whether the government likes it or not.

You are right, they had already known before that October 1 is a independent day, But at times thing may go in wrong direction to how we plan it. Though, I don't support the postponed but let's wait for the good time.

Waiting for a right time might not come... When we expect them to launch, they will bring distraction story.

The review are not positive at all... And it is a bad start for the platform that you must contact your bank before you proceed.

Can we still believe in Nigeria,do we still have hope at all, imagine a site undergoing all the procedure and test and still came out to be negative too bad for those who signed up.
