Following the turn of events in Nigeria with respect to cryptocurrency , the vice president of Nigeria , Prof . Yemi Osibanjo said that Blockchain and cryptocurrency has potential to promote the financial system in a way that we can imagine . He explained further that decentralized finance system through smart contract will out perform the traditional banking system in near future.
He went as far as tweeting a YouTube video on it.
He however stress the need for security consciousness when dealing with cryptocurrency.

I believe it will change things very soon because he made the statement during bankers summit . They really need to have a rethink on the ban

I guess it will help that the citizens like Cryptocurrencies too and they use it to earn money aswell. Hopefully everything goes right and they lift the ban

Nigeria wouldn't want to be left behind and I feel that the VP is intelligent and way more liberal to realize this. He advocates for regulations and that is exactly what would have been expected from those whose duties are to take care of the economy of the nation.

The Nigeria govt lacks synergy and it is affecting the country negatively.

I agree , crypto shouldn't have been banned outrightly in the first, at least regulations should have been better than just banning out of the blue, it just shows the carelessness of the govt

Before the ban, the lawmakers were not informed neither was the SEC consulted. The last time i heard about the ban was the summon of CBN by the National Assembly which nothing has been heard about the meeting.

The problems of Nigeria is numerous. They should just let cryptography be.

Yeah i think up till now there hasnt been any matter of solving the issue i think, and the VP words have not been implemented , after the banks have made the law

Coming out to lift the ban will make them look stupid so i believe that they have somehow zeroed the ban as the outcome of the meeting BTW the NASS and CBN is not known and the ban enforcement is not serious any longer.
For the VP, he realised himself and spoke for speaking sake.

I think the ban is still serious because most exchange sites in the country are not still offering a crypto deposit option , its still pending

Yes, the exchange sites are still pending at the moment but I think the banks are the ones holding up at the moment because they are most affected by the crypto option as people tend to move their cash to crypto wallets. The Apex bank is not even responding to the ban they issued.

Even some banks banned some account some weeks ago , but i think due to the news of them banning account a lot of people said a lot of bad thing about the bank and move their money away from it, then the banks have stopped for now due to that
