A new updating is coming by the end of july that will help content creators to increase their earnings, if you are youtuber, then you will probably know that if your video isn't atleast 10 minutes long, you won't be able to place more than 1 ad, now this update will reduce the 10 minutes lenght to only 8 minutes, which will help a lot of youtubers to place more ads in their previous videos that aren't 10 mins long and also will save them more time to create less long videos.

guess some of them would abuse this new update as I've seen some youtubers abusing this and just flooding ads whenever they can, though this update is good too for some who are in need of money especially now that viewers have doubled activities due to stay at home policy

if they wanted to abuse, they could abuse in the previous update, by just making the video 10 mins longer by dropping some nocopyrighted song there, but it's not good for them since they will lose viewers

yep I guess so, as a viewer myself it's also really irritating to get ads every few minutes of watching, 1 ads per starting to watch video and one at the end is quite okay for me

you can use adblock or purchase youtube premium to avoid ads, but i don't really recommend that, because as a viewer, you are watching videos for free and youtubers need that money to finance their content to keep uploading

yep, I myself do currently use the brave browser , though I turn off the adblock features in youtube, as I to would want to support content creators there

you have to work hard in uploading or advertising yourself to get an ample amount of audience, or adding tags which some says seems to work

thanks a lot bro, even though, i can't monetize the content i'm uploading since i'm using it just for fun as a hobby and to improve my video editing skills (and because my videos contain copyrighted music xd)

ah yeah I understand but you can go far, you have a lot of subscribers, just keep promoting it and do new videos to increase them more.

This is a good initiative by YouTube , it will really help YouTubers .
Moreover , most YouTube users do not like videos that are long , so I believe that this is for the two parties : the users and the YouTube creators.

Great news, this change will give the uploader a broader videos to upload. Cause not every niche or topic can be made that long, for example a short tutorial or some sort. And i hope this will make the videos on youtube much better.

I hope those youtubers won't use that medium to post annoying ads , because most YouTube viewers hates those ads and might stop watching due to much ads well it's still okay

I'm not exactly sure since I'm not always using adblocker on my browser but I think we can still block ads of you tube if we don't like it. I rarely encounter that many ads of YT though, since I rarely use it.

Unfortunately, this won't help the situation with monetisation just because of the fact that it will be even easier for people to stretch their videos and flood them with midroll ads, and new videos will just be 8:01 or 8:02

I don't see much difference 2 minutes will make but I guess for longer videos it can amount to something , for example before now you would need up to a 20 minutes video to run two ads on it but now that reduces to 16

That is an awesome improvement there. It will truly help YouTubers to make some money out of their videos. The reduction of the minutes to place ads will help those who prefer short videos a lot. Of which those short videos are always the best to watch and get so many views within a short time. This is a very good thing for content creators.

The longer your video the higher the number of advert you can place on your video on your YouTube channel. If you're going to post lengthy video on your YouTube channel, it must be years on subject people are willing to spend their time on otherwise you are not going to make money even if you put lots of adverts on the videos. You just have to focus on producing quality content based on what people are searching on YouTube to make money faster.
