After El Salvador, now the Financial Minister of Netherlands "Wopke Hoekstra" now become a fan of crypto and says that we should adopt and regulate btc rather than banning it.

Hin 2018 he harshly pushed back on some calls for ban of crypto done by Dutch think tanks regularly. This think tanks have a very protective and conservative point of view to the Dutch financial system and see crypto disruption as a threat. The Dutch minister of finance on the other hand support new ideas and business models. Thats why some of Europe's finest fin-techs are from the Netherlands.

anyone who could see the advantage cryptocurrency carries would love to place interest in it , cryptocurrency have so much importance in it , that's why lot of companies are considering it and looking for mahy ways they could benefit from the system in every possible ways

The usage of cryptocurrency is now so common that now it is not possible to stop cryptocurrencies, despite the fact that many countries have placed a strict ban over these coins. The government might have had banned cryptocurrencies officially, but we may never know what the government might be doing secretly. However, many politicians have still openly supported cryptocurrencies and this could be beneficial for investors.

It's good news to see that people from politics start to get some knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and recommend adopting it. We need people from politics to support cryptocurrency otherwise it will never be fully adopted in our daily lives

His view point is the better option in my own opinion. It would be like taking a step back from the competitive space we have now in the crypto world if the proposed plan goes through.

A finance minister might play some role when it comes to policies regarding money or capital. He may also play a big role when it comes to financial system of the country. However, I think that the government should start supporting Bitcoin as a whole if we want to see notable changes when it comes to adoption of Bitcoin. Finance minister alone may not be able to do every thing.

even if the government tries to stop cryptocurrency by placing ban on cryptocurrency exchange not to operate in the country ,the crypto currency lovers would still find other options like for instance making use of p2p service ,vpn and others to actually remove the limitations and others

There are so many ways to liquidate your cryptocurrency assets and the government will never know when and how cryptocurrency holders liquidated their assets. Banning exchanges and putting restrictions on bitcoin would never stop Bitcoin traders. This is what happened in countries like Nigeria. The Nigerian government banned cryptocurrencies, but this never stopped traders in there!

yes the Nigeria government banned cryptocurrency , but people actually find other better alternatives to look forward to , the banks and others refused to run cryptocurrency transaction ,but people have to find another means to be able to carry out transaction

The only thing that makes the government to choose the ban option is the decentralization feature of the cryptocurrency space . This is because the government believed that they cannot control it and the criminals could hide under the umbrella of the cryptocurrency exchanges to perpetrate illicit activities, which the government would not like.

Instead of banning cryptocurrency, the regulatory option is available so as to curb the illicit activities that could emanate from cryptocurrency. The prime minister of the Netherlands has made the right choice.

That is so awesome of the Netherland's financial minister. I totally agree with him that cryptocurrencies should be adopted and not banned. This is because they come with so many benefits to the traders and the country in general. It is great that El Salvador has created such a great benchmark for other countries to start viewing cryptocurrencies positively too.

Regulation to me is actually much better ,the government should introduce some sort of regulation ,atleast to be able to control the rate at which illegal activities are proceeded in cryptocurrency , different countries needs to come together for the development of cryptocurrency

The primary assignment of the government is to ensure that the level of criminality is reduced and because cryptocurrency could be a save haven for criminal activities , the government should regulate it. This will be able to curb criminal activities in the cryptocurrencies sector.

There are many cryptocurrency exchanges working in the country. My country is quite neutral about cryptocurrencies. The government does not have a favourable view regarding cryptocurrencies, but they have not banned it in a straight manner either. If they ever place a ban on exchanges, then it would become very hard for many official exchanges to perform exchanging actions.

i am waiting to see how the government would be able to regulate it well , because what cryptocurrency really need for now is the existence of tight regulation , there have been cases of people getting scammed and unable to recover their funds off trading on scam exchange platform

I was reading an article about why government could simply do nothing about it. The fact is that many different governments in the world have tried to impose big penalties and punishment for people who hold cryptocurrencies after the ban was placed on these digital coins. However, such kind of governmental strategies are simply not having any positive effect. Cryptocurrencies could prove to be good for the economy it they get regulated.

although I have always known how some government usually create bigger policies and yet most of the time the government dont normally follow the policies they created , so it could be that they place ban and policies but didn't implement the ban to make it effective

So many countries have been regulating the cryptocurrency. They have gone into collaboration with the cryptocurrency exchange platforms to actualise the regulatory framework .

We have quite a huge number of countries that have being regulating the cryptocurrency right now and it really worked well.

yeah they have gone into collaboration with those exchange platform ,I think that's the only way they could enforce regulation on cryptocurrency , because with the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency they won't be able to work out things if they dont regulate cryptocurrency through exchange platform
