Four years ago there was a ban that was places by Morocco on cryptocurrency, where their government expressed major concern with how this currency is regulated and used. However, it seems that despite this ban, this country is still within the top 5 countries in Africa that are using cryptocurrencies. In a recent article, it appears that the central bank in Morocco is possibly looking at developing and launching its own digital currency. What are your thoughts on doing this in a country that has banned crypto? This would require revisions to their cryptocurrency laws in my opinion, and a way to try and regulate it in conjunction with their new digital currency for the country as well.

Well i guess it can work like i remember China has made a Cryptocurrency only circulating in a small town or something.. must work like that i guess
If it's circulating in a small town I guess they still need to test it on a small scope first before they will roll it out on a larger scale as it is kinda easier to manage it that way

Now every government is trying to launch it's cryptocurrency, but hardly they know about block hain, they have no Pow or Pos or any other algorithm, they are doing drama.

Morocco seems to be moving in the right direction with the way it has been working the crypto currency world, this could be a really nice development

My problem with African leaders is that their mentality is low, did you know this same thing happened in my country. Assuming the government allowed the adoption of crypto currency that same 4 years ago, and think of launching their own digital currency, it wont be difficult for its citizen to adopt today, but since they couldn't control them by law they felt is the right time for them to develop their own currency which is totally wrong and unacceptable.

By law, since 2017 any type of use of cryptocurrency is illegal in the Kingdom of Morocco. However, no govt is able to control cryptosystem and cryptography, so Moroccan are trading cryptocurrencies on their own by using the P2P features. I was not able to find Morocco govt's plan about launching it's own crypto.

It sounds good. but trading cryptocurrencies is very erratic and high risk. but if it's a good cause many people support the existence of a new currency in the world of cryptocurrencies. good luck

Most actually don't know or cas
re that much about the future ,that's the reason you see that they were not making effort in the adoption of cryptocurrency ,and the funny part is that when it comes to something benefiting them only ,they would really pay more attention to it than ever I think

Most countries are now seeing the need to embrace cryptocurrency, most especially in Africa. I hope the leaders can actually think long-term of how they can benefit maximally from cryptocurrency investments. That is why it pains me to see my country place a ban on something that actually gives us citizens financial independence. I hope we can also embrace this.

Many countries are really fighting to get their own digital currency, but personally I don't see the need as I haven't seen the impact our country's digital currency has helped alleviate poverty or help raise the value of the currency. I think Naira is now doing much worse after the digital currency was launched.

Africa is one of the fastest moving location when it comes to Crypto adoption and the fact is that with big exchanges offering their services to the users of the region and offering educational courses the region will soon have a great importance in the Crypto market as well to be honest actually in my opinion .
