As reported by Ars Technica, the giant tech company Microsoft apparently in the talks to buy the chat app Discord for a whooping amount of $10 billion. An anonymous insider told Bloomberg that in the past even Epic Games and Amazon tried to buy Discord in the past, and that currently, Discord is exploring the possibility of sale through multiple parties.

It has been months since we saw this news ,and to the best of my knowledge , nothing has been done by Microsoft towards buy discord.

The deal didn't happen and I even think Discord had no intention of considering Microsoft's offer in the first place. I would prefer it continues independently.

That's wise of them because ,they will benefit more from discord o we long period of time . If they mistakenly sell it , they will regret it because the app will be modified

I see it as an expansion, if the deal sell through. It will really boost Microsoft social media presence, and also help increase there profits.

Maybe they know the worth of their platform would increase more in the future and they are not planning on selling it either to microsoft

I really do not understand what is the observation of big technological companies with acquiring of upcoming competition. I have been following this news for some time now and I am particularly happy that discord pulled out of the deal associate managing their application by them self.

If they do end up selling the platform then i think that it will be a concern for many people because there are some peopel that think that these platforms aretrackign people and therefore if they continue to buy out others people may be less inclined to use their services.

I think most of this buys are actually intiated ,most times to make less competition and increase the amount of monopoly they would have in the operation of the market ,this is why I am actually not too in support of the buys and others , because I actually know that it could have its own negative effect instead of the positive said effect on the market ,it reduces innovation

It is a good way to try and reduce the amount of competition that there is because there is a lot of social media sites that can be used in order to communicate with people, however i think that if there is one company owning all of it if there is an outage it affects everything.

It is is something that I believe and even if I am in the position of it I will do it also. What you have said is true and buying small applications that are just coming up with great potential is definitely one of the way to kill the competition off before it becomes popular and it starts attracting a lot of investors.

That's actually what they do ,I think they actually do all they could to avoid competition ,they have target and progress reach ,so they would do all their best to kill any competition and reduce the amount of rate people indulge in the small business ,so they could actually favour themselves more the way they actually are willing to tho

It does do that and they are also able to adopt the new technology into what they are doing as well and i think that this will help them to reach new heights and have new ideas that have not been previously released to the entire market when it comes to technology.

The most important factor is the study of project you are investing in and its salient features and it is definitely a pretty good choice by Microsoft considering the number of users and ideas they can fetch from discord for the investment
That is rue, however i think that is more worrying because if they are trying to buy out all of their competition then it will create a major problem when it comes to network outages and concerns that are experienced as well because this will actually cause the people to migrate to other networks.

Since when I installed discord for an etherium giveaway package I have actually not find the urge to continue with it, though the reviews are quite positive because it gives room for privacy.
But for a beginner it's not really easy to operate through and kindoff complex.

I have been hearing alot about this discord of a thing. I was not even aware of this application untill I started hearing about it on forums like this. I was thinking about opening an account there soon though, I heard it is mostly used by gammers. If Microsoft decides to buy it, it simply means they are expanding.
