Microsoft is no doubt a successful business organization in the IT world. This company is set to buy one of the fast growing social media app Tiktok owned by a chinese man called Byte Dance .
Recall President Trump was against the app citing Security breach as a reason. Currently an American base company (Microsoft) wants to buy it.
How does this deal affect either China or US in their trade tension.

if the US do ban it before it happen it might deter improvement in the Microsoft side , but if it would be banned after the deal happens I think that will be where alot of problems will come from

I don't think that the app can be banned after the deal has taken place . this is because Microsoft is a company in US , and US will now have no reason banning g it against , as it will be monitored by them .

I doubt if there is any app that is not sending information about the users to the developers, I guess the pandemic and trade war between US and China is what has spark the ban of Tiktok.

Just as @Savio has said , any app that will send data to the developer will always ask for permission from the user . This is while we normally vet the notification , " Allow app to read users data or see users profile " .

They don't deliberately steal data but the unconscious approval we grant those just to have full access to the functions are easier way to steal data.

people who normally accept the permission doesn't really know how much of data is being read and sent, though they can't just decline it as most app will not work unless you allow them

There are apps that will only request access to gallery and camera , these apps is safer than those that will request full access . I don't normally grant permission to any of them

I've also seen some other apps with questionable permissions where they don't even use any picture or camera feature but still forces you to accept permission for your gallery and camera

There are indication that TiKtok may not be sold to Microsoft company, they prefer to run the app because of the large popularity it has gain especially in the US.

Well I think that they should not forget the fact that if Donald Trump should finally ban the app in US , then there won't be much people using the app there @De-rector .

Well, the update I read now is that the China has vowed not sell the tiktok app to Microsoft, they decribe the action by Microsoft as desperate move by US to steal their technology.

It is better US work on creating their own version of Tik Tok or something better because the Chinese are not ready to sell the ever growing app to Microsoft.

They have the professionals to do so if they create theirs and make it popular then it would create more development and employment for people residing there

I am beginning to believe that US is loosing it to China especially during this pandemic that they have made more looses than gains compared to China.

If they do buy it, I don't think many people will care about the security breach. A lot of the people I see using it aren't even aware of the security breach. That can change if the app really gets banned

wouldn't that be copyright? though depends on the features of the app that they would make, and I guess they wouldn't also spend that much to advertise the new app

Its nothing like copyright if new features is been added ,even sometimes China do copy some other related product by different countries am not sure if there is any problem

I've seen lots of copyright materials from china where they just adjust the names or the models just by a bit which is really stupid

Yeah I have seen things like that and yet some of the producers or manufacturers of the product keep mute about it , so those materials are only rebranded and are copied

weirdly enough some wouldn't issue copyright until that copyrighted app is making lots of money and then they'll act to put up a copyright issue just after that
