MicroStrategy's Chief Executive Officer Michael Saylor believes that Bitcoin investment is less risky than cash or gold investment.
He went further to analyze that what prompted him to invest in Bitcoin was Federal Reserve's new relaxed inflation policy .
This was review during his interview with Bloomberg

For me he says that because he invested in Bitcoin and he knows that good news positively influences the price of this asset, hahaha. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile, too dynamic, so you base your opinions on the past growth that BTC has had and the potential for the future, but nothing is a fact

I think his opinion was based on the volatile nature of Bitcoin which will make one to gain more than loss . It is not easy to loss all in cryptocurrency because the price after a dip will definitely rise

If you invest for the long term, few are the coins that have increased in value, among them BTC and ETH are excellent examples. But remember that it is a volatile market and the value of BTC is based on the trust of its blockchain, there is no physical endorsement, therefore I see it as somewhat contradictory

For the fact that he used Bitcoin for the investment , I am quite confident that he will definitely gain from it unlike if he had used any altcoin .

I find it very difficult to agree with his assertion. Cryptocurrency is no doubt a good investment but when compared with gold it is certainly riskier, for cash however, inflation plays a major role in determining which is the safer form of investment.

There is no doubt that the safest investment is that of gold, if you invest in BTC you are under the risk of many variables, such as that you lose access to your portfolio, that your portfolio is hacked, that the server is hacked, that BTC lose the confidence of investors, in short, there are many variables, which makes BTC a high-risk investment but with higher profits in the short, medium and long term

You made a valid point about Bitcoin instability but it being better in terms of risk than gold or money seems a bit off. To me crypto seems more risky

Definitely! In comparing both assets, crypto is riskier. Though one may not lose all the funds but that does not erase the fact that some loss can be incurred if the price refuse to eventually go up.

think bitcoin is more risky since the fluctuation in price can make the person lose a lot of cash in an instance ,so the two are very different

If the pandemic had not come which is a major push for inflation he won't have considered investing in bitcoin, he analysis are more of emotional than business wise. Gold investment is not as risky as bitcoin

You are absolutely right. His statement was not really based on the real facts or the correct situation of things. I agree that it was his sentiments speaking.

Seriously !?
isn't bitcoin dropped more than 50% in march
i think gold is less risky and comparing bitcoin to gold is nonsense
Yeah even crypto as a whole is risky and can't be compared to gold ,since the rate of fluctuations of the two is different

In the end, the two are investment alternatives, therefore they must be compared. For something, the company Mycrostrategy bought more than 350 million dollars in Bitcoin, they themselves declare that Bitcoin is an excellent store of value. That the market is much more volatile than that of gold, it is true, but little by little this market has matured

Not sure if bitcoin is less risky than gold. That's because gold is one of the oldest assets in the world and it's price has been only going up in the last couple decades

Well bitcoin investment too is more risky because most especially when it's been done online and the people involve in the site can leave any time

bitcoin is a thing for experienced users who have patience and money to play with , neither small amounts can make you rich , but big drop in small savings can do make you panic so invest wisely always

I can't put much trust on that statement as for risking your investment it depends on how you handle it.Any investment is risky but what I know of bitcoin even a newbie in investment can handle after obtaining few knowledge about it.It can't take much resources and time to learn about that.Bitcoin is one of my best also but I trade it with USD .
