As reported by Vice, Medium, a huge online publication site where anyone with an account can publish articles decided to change its strategy. As a result of this strategy change, Ev Williams, the CEO of Medium has emailed all Medium staff, offering them voluntary quit as the company began to redirect its focus to individual writers and supports them with feedback, editorial and deals.

I think this was a very harsh decision to make because it is more or less like there was no more any relevance of the workers to the companies new model of doing business.

i have an account there also.

That is so unfortunate to the many people who were using medium to earn. So what are the qualifications needed now to become an article writer there?

I own a blog with medium and does it mean I wouldn't be able to use the blog again? I would like to know this and your prompt anwer would be appreciated.

I understand that the company wants to become a little bit more customer-oriented but then that is a very harsh decision on its employees. Employees are people who are always supposed to be made to feel like they are part of the company at all times and decisions like this is going to bring a decline in their self-esteem.

Informing workers through email is definitely not the best way to go . As a large company that has guarded this kind of reputation it will be better if its first of all educate its employees on the way forward and how they can be able to diversify and also help the company. People who cannot will then be given the way out and those who can should be retained.

Though alot of persons might see this as being too harsh or rude about it but I guess that's just his way of showing concern towards the people cause after this new development, some persons might want to leave and might be feeling guilty about it, so he has given his approval for does who might want to leave.
