The polygon chain has a lot of potential which is not yet achieved. Ethereum network is more vastly known than polygon and for it to surpass ethereum in the number of active wallet address for a coin at that time period is a big deal

Polygon has been doing well as a crypto and that is partly due to the fact that transactions with it are significantly faster and cheaper than the Ethereum mainnet. I believe it would consolidate and get stronger in the future.
