How does one market an app?

It's not a large one to build hype over like the next Uber or something, just a few basic games that I'd like more downloads to get a bit of revenue.

I have promoted the link via Twitter but that's about it. And aside from Twitter I don't have much of any media to promote it with.

Anybody have any ideas/experience with marketing smaller apps?

My boyfriend makes android apps and puts them on google play store and itunes all the time. He just recently created a roku channel with his content also. I could be wrong, but just by having it in their markets should bring some sort of attention to it. I would say once the app is established, you could invest some money into placing it on "pay to download" tasks sites too.

It has gotten some downloads without advertising and just being there.

Maybe I should build up a more professional feel from where I am linking it and promoting it and maybe shell out a bit of money to advertise. Thanks!

I think you should be on most of the popular social media platform to put the app out there. If you're not a social media person you could just open them as a business account and the profile will just be able the app.

I think Facebook should be the first go-to platform.Signup and start marketing to your friends.you could write a good review and specifically indicate why peole should download or have your app.Go into persuasive and informative marketing, this is persuading intending users with good information about the product which will enable them to see reasons why they should have it.

Here's what I have done for one of my sample App on Android. I opened twitter account. And started posting some specific content to the app. And this has helped me get some good leads in due process. You can see that marketing such app requires a lot of effort. And if you can bring new people to like your stuff. Then that can be good enough for handling the reviews and the short promotion. I think for content based marketing that is one good option.

I think friends are not really quality traffic. Because they are not going to purchase from you every day. So the family and friends are not the category to target. But you can ask them to share. And more they share, the viral content going can be helpful for you in your work. And this in turns helps out with the content monetization side as well.

I think long term is not to good decision since most of workers will deinstall app after they are paid. Paid downloads can bring up statistic, but I don't think it will keep users to stay active.

I agree pay per install is a bad marketing option. In such case the best option would be to promote in the forums where there are needs for the app. I have seen many apps that do this. Like they allow forum users to promote the apps of different type. I guess each app is different for promotion so some tricks may or may not work for long term.

You should write or do a video about your app and share the link on all social media.let people get to know about your app and it's functions. It only what people are aware of be productive.

Learn everything there is to know about your market before you do anything else.
Understanding your competition and ideal customers is essential for this.
You need people to be able to find your app in order for them to download it.To increase your exposure in both the Apple App Store and Google Play, there are a few things you can do.

There are several strategies for marketing an app, including organic and paid marketing methods. Organic marketing methods include optimizing the app for app store search and using social media and content marketing to promote the app. Paid marketing methods include buying ads in app stores, on social media, and in search results

organic takes time but it is preferred by search engines paid method is faster helps build a presence sooner and takes money and professional skills as well with it too to succeed .
