Quite a few paying online sites have come and gone, often vanishing overnight. Bubblews was probably the biggest and best one to go, as they paid very well. Others I was on when the ship went down included Triond, Shvoong and Daily Heckle. I find it is best to get your money out as soon as you earn enough to transfer it to Paypal or any other account you can use. A few people leave their money accumulating on the sites but if they fold they can take all your piggy-banked earnings with them.
Some sites, like Persona Pages, warn users that they are due to close or at least cease paying out after a certain date. Others say nothing so you only find out they shut when you try to log in and find the site is just not there any more. A few sites, like Mylot buck the trend and come back after closing down as paying sites but many disappear forever.
Don't just draw your money when you earn it, also save and back up your postings. If you don't save them they will perish with the closing sites and if saved you can later reuse them on other forums and sites. The market for paying sites is fickle. Don't assume they will be there forever. Like big companies, such as Woolworths, they can disappear very suddenly. Even the Titanic wasn't unsinkable. Let's hope BMF will be with us for many years to come though.
