Coindesk made this update available that luno has recently launched an interest earning bitcoin wallet that will be rewarding investors 4% annually and the interest will be calculated on the first of every month. The CEO Marcus said the survey conducted shows that 95% of their subscribers indicated Interest to deposit their coins for Interest. This is the first noticeable improvement since Digital currency group acquired Luno in September

these interest earning bitcoin wallets aren't really new, and 4% is the average earning rate of most wallets, not sure if they can get other people to use their wallet for this sole purpose

4% interest isn't bad though they can still do better like the oliver twist that we are. But really it a good idea for deposited of bitcoin in their wallet now. It will be encouraging.

I am glad that this is happening and that luno is also available in my country . I will use this period to save my Bitcoin while earning interest from it as well . This is what we want to see in other wallets

Yeah it a good move and despite the interest is very low it is still better for the coin to idle in the wallet without any significant addition.

Yeah . And the fact that the profit can be withdrawn at any point in time makes it more desirable .
I will invest in this when the program is fully launched .

Yeah, I hope lots of people will still prefer to invest in it because the site is very reliable, it is not the huge profit but consistency and reliability.

This is really a very poisitive development as it will allow peple to earn money instead of just storing it in their wallets and there is absolutely almost zed risky unless the account is hacked.A big thumbs up to th luno team as this is enabling this people from a country with a weak currency to profit more when they are hodling crypto for a reasonable time?

Definitely this luno launched will could make the US to have less of their currency patronage from countries with weak currency because they will opt for Crypto instead of dollar. Luno will also be able to use people's funds to trade to earn more.

This Bitcoin investment scheme by Luno seems interesting and I hope they are here to stay.

Many established companies launch such investment schemes and all of a sudden they just wind up everything.
Luno has the potential to sustain because the sites has been in existence for a very long time and the interest rate for this savings is just 4% annually which is very profitable for them.

In Nigeria where I work and reside, the traditional commercial banks offer between 4% and 5% for savings deposits annually, so i guess it's a conventional practice of financial institutions to offer interests of such low single digits annually. It is still a welcome development for those experts at the game of saving because not everyone would be able to leave their accounts untouched for one year, my question though is how many percent would that 4% annually sum up to monthly, if the interest is to be calculated on the 1st of every month.

You just have to do the mathematics. Calculated the 4% profit and divide it with 365 , then you will get the daily interest . One thing am certain is that it will be low

It is just too low and I have always wandered why individuals go the route of fixed deposit when the interest on the funds is nothing to write home about. It just devalues the money for the length of time it is kept there.

People that goes into fixed deposit account are those that lack good knowledge of worth of investment. They believe that their money is safer when fixed than investrd

As for me , I will suggest that he uses luno to invest , although it is just 4% , he can withdraw it anytime unlike with Binance where he has to keep it for a while year
