If you know programming you may consider taking a deeper look and decide to register at http://www.getacoder.com/
This freelance board is a true GOLDMINE and you must check for work there if you need money. No programming skills? No problem because they accept web designers and freelance writers too. Is impossible not to make money!

To freelance writers a recommend an online duplicate content checker to make sure those articles you're creating are not already published somewhere on net, this will save you from a nasty problem. Believe me, I know what I'm saying.

@Hesita a recommendation to all buyers of those article to keep a better duplicate content checker for their own account's safety. If you post a duplicate article on your site just imagine about your own reputation.

Cool cool, thanks for all the info guys, I'm a good writer and currently just looking for a platform with which to express my emotions. There's a wedding happening soon.. It'll be really cool.

WorknHire.com is a freelance market place for Indian freelancers and contractors, which operates the similar way as Freelancer and Elance. You can find and post projects on different categories like IT & Programming, Content Writing, Data Entry, Graphic Design, Finance and Sales & Marketing.

I've never actually used Guru or Elance because I am satisfied with Freelancer when it comes to finding online freelance work. I had also read some reviews before signing up and they were all in favor of freelancer.

I have a very negative opinion of Freelancer. They are always trying to upsell their ridiculous skill tests, the jobs are bargain basement priced, and the whole interface is clunky as hell.

But as a working preelancer I have never found any of these aggregator sites to be worth my time. I hunt down jobs in my speciality areas via open websearch and networking. The competitons is lower, the skill levelof everyone involved is higher, the pay is massively higher, and no third party is taking a cut for essentially doing f all.

I was a member to freelancer website 3 years back and they imposed $1000 negative balance without asking anything to me.
It's hard to get accepted on these freelance site as it is the highest site, where people asks for the money being used.

I was been a member to Odesk and it is the best site for getting freelance jobs and my profile too had some feedback with comments.

As in you have to earn $1000 before you can start making money? That just seems ... despicable.

I applied for a job of $1000 or above and the guy who accepted the offer, but freelancer site put a negative balance for me.
I contacted to them at that time and no response from them, although I don't use all the time for freelancing and Odesk made me satisfaction for the fixed Jobs.

I think you would have added Fiverr to your list,I think it the largest freelancing site, that one can use to express his or her self, though it quite competitive but it still worth trying.

As worker on those sites, the hardest part is get First job. If you get it and doing good, you have much better chance to get new one. If you are employer, better check with detalis CV of worker and pay little more. Cheapest worker isn't best worker.

This is always the problem.of all newbies breaking the jinx to get the first job,it never easy to get noticed without a good review or feedback from any client or customer. One needs to be very good to retain the first client and get referrals from there.
