When it comes to working from home many people are turned off at the thought of starting your own home based business and would prefer to work in actual job from the comfort of their own home. The following is a list of several work at home jobs that are legitimate ways for you to make extra money or replace a fulltime income from home.
Translation jobs are on the rise as of valuable and popular way to work at home. There are many companies that hire people to do in translation from the comfort of their own home so if you speak more than one language fluently you just may want to consider looking into the possibility of getting a translation job from home.

Freelance writing or blogging is another way that you can earn money from home very legitimately. You'll find that there are many avenues that you can go down to locate work as a freelance writer and there are many avenues in which you'll be able to monetize a blog so you can start making money from your writing.

Doing data entry from home while sounding like it may not be so legitimate is actually quite illegitimate job to work from home. While you might be scared of scams that make it sound like you can make thousands of dollars a day doing data entry you'll find that your research you can find many companies that hire remote data entry workers that make a nice amount of money working from home.
This is just a drop in the bucket in regards to the legitimate work from home jobs that parents can get. As others you do your research and make sure the company that you want to work for is legitimate you are certain to find something that will match your skills and abilities thus allowing you to work from home and be able to spend more time with your family.

Those are all great ideas, and there are many other ways you can make money online as a parent; however, the possibilites you have greatly depend on how much you want to make. If you're just trying to round up your paycheck, then you could take the risk and give a shot to some online activities with great potential, but no guaranteed revenue (also known as "high risk, high reward businesses"), like running a monetized website; however, if you're trying to make a living out of an online job, you'll definitely want to look for websites which offer a steady income, as long as you're willing to work.
Except for translations, all the ideas you have mentioned refer to the first case: what about the second one, though? You can't afford to put your family on the line just because you want to work home, right? So here are a few ideas:
  • Translation, along with trascription and captioning, are probably your best bet, because there are a lot of websites like that, like Rev or TranscribeMe.
  • Working as a search evaluator is really profitable. The best ones are UHRS, Leapforce and Lionbridge (it's hard to get in, but they're all well above minimum wage).
  • Become a tutor on InstaEdu and get payed regularly (the pay is about 20$ per hour).

I am a work at home mom since last year. I have tried several work at home job opportunities. From your list, I have tried freelance writing and blogging. I love freelance writing since I am able to do what I love and earn from it. With blogging, you're in control of the topics you would want to write for. You reap all your profits and you can have a flexible schedule as much as you want. Here are some other jobs I've tried:
  • Transcription. I have done transcription for a few sites. On the upside, it pays well and it doesn't require experience. On the downside, it takes tons of time just to finish an hour long project. Add to that, if the client doesn't like your work, it will be rejected and all your time is wasted. You would also need a headphone and laptop for this type of work.
  • Content Mill Writing. With writing for content mill sites, you are paid a few dollars, it depends on how long the work is. Usually it's 2.43 dollars for a 500 word article. Again, the downside is you can get rejected and then all your time and effort is pushed down the drain. But it's a great opportunity for newbies in writing.
That's about it, all other sites I've tried are survey sites, PTC sites and GPT sites. Those are great as well but they're not really lucrative earners. Good luck and I hope I can help anyone with this list!

Since I am not a real writer and I still have difficulty in writing too much, I would settle for drop shipping. I am not that good in sales but I am not a good writer either. Choosing between the 2, it would be less tedious to handle sales. And for drop shipping ladies' products particularly clothes and accessories, I guess I can earn a decent amount. But that is only a plan for now since I am still gainfully employed. When I retire, that drop shipping is a good venture.

Writing for content mills is the best work for work at home parents. The site that I can suggest is hubpages.com. You don't make money instantly on hubpages however, if you are dedicated and work hard you can make money from various ways for example hubpages earning program, adsense, ebay and amazon.

I recommend paid to post sites. It's not much, but it can add up, and you can cash out quickly. The trick there is to sign up for as many forums and blogs as you can legitimately contribute to. Apply to the ones at the top of the lists, if they are arranged in order of points from most to least. Make the maximum allowed number of posts per day. Pay attention to those which allow unlimited posts per day. But remain mindful if the platform rules prefer that you keep your daily posts under a certain number total in order to avoid becoming disqualified.

Writing or freelance jobs is probably the best way to go if you want to really profit from working at home. You can do simple stuff like surveys but that'll take quite a long time before you can cash out.

There are a number of ways through which you can earn. They include online selling, posting on forums, writing for some sites, you can join PTC/survey sites, Upwork, YouTube, affiliate marketing, blogging, starting your own website

I am working from home parent, in fact both my hubby and I are working from home. He is selling books via Facebook while I am doing some translation job.
There are more jobs can be done at home, like soap making and sell at Facebook fan page. Bakery is another good business too. Some of my friends are doing well in their small home business.

I am really interested in working from home. I would like you to explain better about data entry. How to go about it and some things that I need to do to be successful with it

Working from home is good and productive but it needs one working hard and continuous too.If you don't log in a day then no money for you.I wish the could be some set up stuff, where one can make good money while away doing other stuff lol.

Having a home based job is convenient but finding one that pays good enough for daily expenses is hard. Most of the people works online for extra income, but there are some who is lucky to find a company that will give them good contract and salary that is same as having an offline jobs.

Yes , I have found some apps there that I will try once my Ios is updated. Spare5 seems to be a good try, have you checked it out?

For now only the article writing seems to be the legitimate and there are some really hard conversion for the projects. So start with something small and then build yourself from there onwards. That way you can get more things done as well.

Spare 5 is no longer working for me, unfortunately. No tasks are being allocated to me even though I have completed all the qualifier tasks assigned to me. Are you receiving tasks from them?

I can see three tasks pending on my list and I can complete this only by using an IOS device. Unfortunately, I am using an android phone. I don't why they didn't develop an app for android too.
