On september 25th ku coin was hacked and up to $200 million worth of crypto was moved illegally (stolen) from the exchange. Since the hack the stolen funds have been tracked on the blockchain. Just yesterday the hacker / thief started exchanging the stolen crypto on Uniswap (decentralized exchange / DEX). The hacker dumped large amounts of Ocean Token causing the price to crash. The CEO of Ku Coin has spoken out and so has a member of the Ocean team.

In short, I'm moving my crypto off exchanges until I am ready to sell or trade.

Many thought that this was going to negatively move the BTC market, but it didn't. The good news was that Kucoin took responsibility and declared that it will return the stolen funds to users.

Big crypto exchanges really need to level up their security around hot wallets. But then not even big company like Google is immune to hackers.

Hackers are really a pain on the neck witb this huge amount of hacking. I hope the authorities find a way of arresting situations like this. It really becoming worrisome.

That's good to hear! Also, much of the stolen funds (ERC-20) were frozen by DEXes that the thief was using to exchange the funds.

It's good that they can track the movements that the hacker is making, I think it would have been better if it hadn't been known from the news, so the hacker would have trusted more and could make a mistake to be discovered.

You are right, sometimes maybe these discoveries shouldn't be in the news yet until these hackers are traced and caught. This issues need to be nip in the bud

It's crazy that huge amount of money disappeared not the hacker can get away with it .
I saw news that tether froze the hacker's tether which is 12million
I think tether is doing great at the moment in terms of security of the usdt. From the millions sent to a wrong address that was recovered to this. Such a huge amount hacked,I doubt if it's just an individual behind this.

I have always said that these types of people multiply because society prefers to respect a person who has money, no matter how he got it, an honest person but without money.

Definitely, the society contributes a lot ti this, we turn a blind eye to how our brothers or sisters are making their money which makes others come up to continue in the evil game.

I guess they should do more tracking , since that kind of cash can't just lost like that ,if the member of the ocean team and kucoin manager can cooperate then they could possibly track the person

Crazy!
Be it in offline world or online world, it can never be safe!
Glad that kucoin took responsibility of it, if not i can't imagine all the lose of their hard working!

They have to take responsibility since it's their job to do so , if they don't take responsibility then who would now take responsibility for such situation

This is cool that they are going to do so , but am scared that they may loose some users , since someone might not trust their security system again

I read that the hacker was using Uniswap to exchange some of the stolen funds as well especially the synthetrix . Am glad the exchange sites are working to stop him

This is really true friend. As at now, most of their users are already having the belief that their security system is very low and l'm very sure such users will be lost.

I don't think so because they have promised to return the stolen funds . Also most cryptocurrency users know that many other companies have been hacked as well .
