Overview
My first journey was a flop, but I learned a great deal from that:
My second journey has been a success for a nice side income:
My 3rd journey hasn't picked up yet... But I'm hoping it will at some point.
And now I'm starting the 4th Journey, this one.
Strategy
I've created a mind map of the content. It consists of
Keyword Research
I spent $20.86 on getting the main keyword (electronics product niche). If not already dead, it's certainly a dying niche. However, it's probably not dead yet for a very specific reason that might carry this niche a long way still, and so there's a very specific target audience for it. The rest of the keywords present themselves intuitively, almost like automatically.
On-Page SEO
For every targeted keyword that has a competitor, I will try to make my post longer than the number 1 competing post. In those posts, I will link out to relevant articles that are not my direct competitors. I will make a lot of related posts so as to increase relevancy and interlinking potential to look like an authority on the subject.
I won't be outsourcing any content. I'll make it all by myself. This time I'll just accept the fact that I'm not perfect and "assume" people will be aware of it when reading my posts. Additionally, I'll adapt the mindset of: "When they don't want to read it, they don't have to. Not my problem". I'll just make content I myself am satisfied with without trying to please everyone (because that'd be impossible to begin with, and that fallacy alone would be a mental blockage).
Off-page SEO
I'll do no link building, no outreaching, no exploiting of any kind. I want this to be super passive and long-lasting.
TECHNICAL
The domain is bought via Namecheap for 2 years ($17.76). It's hosted by HostKoala premium shared hosting plan for 2 years ($50). I've implemented https for this site and it's using a relatively optimized simple free theme (Wisteria).
Expectations
I don't want to expect to get any money out of this until September 2020. I'm not looking to make a lot with this niche, just a few hundred euros every month is all I need from it. I might get done with this site by early next year, but I might start another site while I'm still working on this site...
It might not work, but it probably will
Expenses:
My first journey was a flop, but I learned a great deal from that:
- Sauna porn tube site (August, 2017 - 2018).
My second journey has been a success for a nice side income:
- Hobby site (3rd of March, 2018 - 2019+),
- 1st Affiliate site (5th of April, 2018 - 2019+).
My 3rd journey hasn't picked up yet... But I'm hoping it will at some point.
- 2nd Affiliate Site (7th of June, 2019 - 2019+).
And now I'm starting the 4th Journey, this one.
- 3rd Affiliate Site (6th of October, 2019 - 2019+)
