According to my knowledge, Dot Net is specifically used for desktop applications while Java can be used for all purposes such as desktop, web and mobile app. Most of the windows operating system and it's software has been developed using dot net so i believe Dot Net is better for desktop applications.

very good reply. I also believe that in cooler design (interface) with shades and colors .NET might be far advanced than Java.

In Dot Net you can create programs for only Windows environment, but in Java the program can be run in different OSes like Windows,Linux,Mac OS etc.

I am not much into the deskyop platform rather I am into website deve. But I saw many stunning designed app made probably with .NET and its exciting to make an app like "Craigslist Email Scraper" with quality working features and good design can be a marketing option too to sell in bulk.

Java is everywhere these days from website to various other programs, so I think the answer is Java. I remember reading somewhere that Java currently is one of the most popular programming language in the world.

java was very strong for mobile phone programs and applications. then it evoled to everywhere. but I am not sure with latest features .Net might beat Java on desktop race.

But java is strong and solid language from where javadcript came and without javascript a website is almost dead. so that is the thing how promising java is.

Yes true I saw salary of Java developers are relatively higher. I had only basics of Java from University classes. Then I turned into PHP for website interests.

I don't have much experience in that field but I know that Java is the best language to create anything, it's old, also useful and you need it anywhere.
I know many languages appear those years but still, Java is the basic.
if you have a good basic in Java, you will be able to learn any new language of programming ^^

Yes mate just the way C is base of many languages and PHP evolved from C. Though C is more into logical and basic programming and PHP totally different in web world.

I will start learning them this summer, my university did a contract with Coursera site so they give us the chance to learn all the courses for free and we can get also a free certificate

Sadly my university courses didn't help in getting php experience. may be I was not much able to understand c or java but I guess if basic php was delivered there it could help me jump further. I think whatever the difficulty level is one may try to learn it fully if he smhas set mind to bd a professional on that field.

Yeah that's right but I find in Coursera really good teachers in all the fields, they have skills and they explain everything professional.
I don't know how but I will search for you how can I send you a course or share it with you

You can find all courses online for free... if you know how... Most of them came in pdf/ebook format. There's also Udemcy but I never used that.

Yeah you right but the best method of teaching is video, I can understand very well from videos (also you can practice with the teachers)
But pdf, you will just read and maybe most of pages you won't understand them especially if you are beginner

@Emoney nice advice I am inspired by video and pdf full courses. Even there I see over 6 hours single video on how to make a complete smart contract based blockchain app. So I like the suggestion from you very much friend.

@anisbouanaka friend thanks it will help me much. I know php but I love to learn wordpress, magento and opencart. laravel too but at the moment I am dreaming high with trading.
