According to The Sun, a British man plans to search 400,000 tonnes of rubbish at a landfill to finally find his hard drive, which contains 275 million pounds (about $ 378 million) of Bitcoins.
James Howells, who has been looking for his encrypted assets since 2013, wants to use artificial intelligence scanners, X-ray scanners and other advanced tools.

I think he needs to move on.
I know it's a lot of money but the chance of finding his harddrive is close to zero it's been lots of years and how small is the hard drive.it will be a miracle if it wasn't destroyed already or atleast find it

He has offered 50 million pounds to the city under whose jurisdiction the landfill is, to allow him to look for it... still the city is refusing the search project.

I do not see a reason for them denying him since he's not going to mess the environment. They should allow him to search, this way he could even do more projects to support the community when he finds it.

Damn, that's a huge sum of money. Our carelessness or unfortunate events comes to haunt us later in life. This is a lesson to everyone reading not to mess with ouŕ crypto wallets.

It is quite unfortunate because that is a fortune but like someone already suggested, I guess it is time he moved on. I can't blame the city that doesn't want him disrupting things by searching the landfill because that will be years upon years of trash.

Yes it's quite unfortunate that's why he still persists in finding it. He has offered the city huge sum of money to enable him look for it. Well unless if the place is a developed area,he should move on.

The money is way too much to let go. Even me will employ all in my arsenal to find this drive so I understand Howie's perfectly well

400,000 tonnes of waste is a lot to go through and to be honest, I understand perfectly his need to find it but it might end up as efforts in futility of wasted time and funds.

Well if it were possible to use magic to extract the stuff, the man would have done so. How possible will it be that the drive housing his crypto will still be intact buried below earth for a long time?

He may end up wasting his money in searching for the hard drive because it might either spoilt or it is broken completely . He just have to move on

probably a miracle can happen and he could later find it , because with the amount Bitcoin is worth for now ,he would really spend all his effort in actually finding the Bitcoin that have already lost ,Bitcoin actually is promising with more potential people should look out for

The landfill Mr. Howell searched through actually toxic. That shows how desperate he was/is. But I heard an interesting story about a guy who hired a teenager, a coding whiz, to help him hack his own computer and regain his password. The kid earned $3,700 in Bitcoin. LOL. Is that cool or what?

I guess that it all depends on how the country dumps the trash. If he lost the device in the year 2013, then I think that the chances of recovering that particular hard drive is almost zero. This is because it would have been recycled if the administration in a particular country has a policy to recycle the waste material.

exactly it would have been crushed or even recycled unknowningly to another thing that is useful ,the only thing I would advice him is that he should not spend more money or too much time on finding it ,so that everything would not turn to waste of effort for him afterall

It might be possible that the hard disk might have been handed over to a computer manufacturing company and they might have had recycled it and recreated it into a new hard drive. In that case, the data on that hard drive might be permanently lost along with cryptocurrencies. The main thing here is that what caused him to throw the hard drive in the first place?

I think he might have thrown it at that time then ,since Bitcoin was worth nothing ,he thought that's how Bitcoin is going to be forever ,he never expected that Bitcoin would increase to this moment , and he also never knew that he threw some sort of precious stones and others that's the thing there

That is so much money lost. But what he is doing it back seems so desperate. Searching through all that trash in a landfill is not an easy job. Maybe he should just give up and move on. After all, he may not have dropped the fash in his trash. Moreover, he could be spending his time now doing other things instead of focusing on what is lost.

You posts reminds me of how I stopped mining the Thunder Token a few years ago. I was looking for an app to mine some sort of token and came across a mining app on Google playstore. I stopped mining after the value of the token declined. Just imagine what would be my reaction if I found that the value of that specific altcoin has surged to millions of dollars!
