iWriter Reviews.jpg

iWriter is a get paid to write site, similar in format to Hirewriters. It is legit. Real hack writers work their way up to "Elite" level and earn real money at the site. However, the site seems to fail for many, if not most, of the people who try to earn money there. How will it fail you? Let me count the (most common) ways.

1. You must pass an English writing test. If you have writing talent and native fluency in English, the test is easy. Some clients look for people who are fluent in writing or translating other languages as well as English. If you are fully bilingual it may be worth taking the English test and getting the "we'll e-mail you" response. If you have the English writing skills they want, you should be steered to a list of writing jobs. There's a lot of competition, so don't even bother if you're not a professional writer.

2. You start out as a "Standard" writer. Jobs at this level are poorly paid, and although the list of available jobs changes continually, the list of jobs for "Standard writers" is often uninspiring, with choices like "Write a promotion for an app you know is useless" or "Translate a document from a language you don't even recognize." You can wait until an attractive job comes up and bid on it, but that's likely to mean no chance to earn US$2 for that day.

3. Clients can ask for revisions or just flatly reject your writing. They don't have to give a reason at all, and when they do, their reason may be a cover for "I want to use this material without paying for it." Even when their reason is valid, hello, these people aren't good at explaining what they want; that is why they hire hack writers. These problems are common to most writing sites. It's always a good idea to have a default publisher, if only your blog, where you can assert your claim to your work.. However, in most cases the client is a small, poor business, or an individual in desperate circumstances looking for someone to help with legal or academic documents, and won't actually make any money from the document for which you've been cheated either, so you won't have much of a base for a lawsuit. You claim your work just to discourage blatant abuse of the system.

4. At other writing sites, like Hirewriters and Guru, I've worked up and built a base of clients. I was willing to do that at iWriter, too, but it didn't work for me for another peculiar reason. IWriter uses "i-frame" coding to process documents...and some servers, like the free servers most of us penniless writers use, will scramble anything coded with "i-frames." Clients were getting truncated and scrambled versions of what I wrote for them. After reading some of the documents iWriter sent to clients, and comparing them with what I'd written in Word, I was surprised that anybody had ever paid me for anything! Certainly I wasn't going to build the kind of ratings and fans that had pushed me to the top in a few months at Hirewriters. So I've regretfully stopped writing for that site. Meanwhile, people for whom the "i-frame" coding has not been a problem are making money there.

5. What some writers like best, others hate most: If iWriter works for you, you'll have fans who will specify that they're offering a job just for you. IWriter is, like Freelancer, surprisingly unsophisticated about filtering those jobs. They'll show up on the general notice page and annoy all the people wondering whether they'll ever get a decent job through the site.

6. Also, as with Hirewriters, people who've encountered any sort of problem with the site have found their accounts just shut down for no reason. In the absence of any process for arbitration, it's impossible to say whether these are writers who've abused the system (let's admit it, one of Bubblews' problems was that people were pasting in chunks of articles copied directly from Forbes and Reuters) or writers who've been abused by the system (at Hirewriters, their problem was that they didn't want to process tax information as required by U.S. law).

7. Also, it's possible to buy your promotion to "Elite" level rather than earning it. Customers don't like this, nor do writers, but apparently it keeps the site solvent, so that option is still available despite a multitude of complaints.

So, in conclusion: If iWriter works for you, it may serve you well. It's just a site that does not work for a lot of people who've tried it.

That's the madness with iWriter......Those are guys who request articles, reserve them for themselves, write them, and then rate themselves 5-stars in order to get to the Elite Plus level fraudulently ......In this level, you need a rating of 4.85 stars after 25 reviews....this is where the pay is awesome....The problem is that they don't last in the Elite Plus level....QUALITY IS KEY...A few 1-star ratings and you're back to the standard level...It is an unworthy shortcut.....On iWriter, you got to learn the game from Standard level such that when you get to the Elite Plus level, you know what to do

Hold up,
Well if things get really bad then you have an option of getting projects from here. But it may not always work out though. I have seen some of the cases where iwriter may not always going to bring you any consistent revenue. you may earn some random income. and that is all there to it. so make sure to find other options online. options where you can get paid some serious money. that's something you have to look for.
iWrityer has got constant work...the elephant in the room is the timing....Personally, I can't be awake at 2:00 am to 3:00am in the morning because I got a job.....There's plenty of work at this time, all year round - Rem I'm on the Premium level

That is the problem with shortcuts sometimes. You can get to where you want without understanding how you did it. You face difficulties since you can't prove that you are worth your level, you start all over again.

Yeah thaat's the problem. but that type of low income in my country is not worth it. 1$ is only 60 bucks in my country. and taxes and all that wipes out the stuff around. so you get the idea that it's not goinng to be easy. besides as you can see that it'd be harder to meet the proper needs with the iwriter. i have worked a bit harder on the reviews. and often there are few issues that come in with the iwriter. people just work too hard for that amount.

Now iwriter is not accepting any new writers. Word going around is that the owner has sold the website and the owners are organizing shop. I hope it will get better.

I have heard about them they are legit, paying good to only best writers other why they will reject you ,with good review they accept acticles rate are good for all member but i know its not for me!thanx....

I joined iWriter in 2012, my first article was approved, my first ever online writing. That account was closed in no time but I had mastered the art of survival......I still hold the new account to date, over $2,000 earned with a lot of ease.....The only hard part is maintaining a good rating!
iWriter is very legit!

Wow. Congratulations on this achievement. You convinced me. I think I will try this.

iwriter is a very well known blog writing site for freelance writers, the articles should have quality to fit in the site. I have heard about the site but never tried for myself.

Its definitely a legit website.. Its ideal for buyers more than writers.. Because you can buy articles for $1 to 2..
For writers.. You need to work hard to get elite status..

UPDATE - Now, you can't register on iWriter as a freelancer
I think they seem to be filtering the people based on country. so most of the third world nations are filtered like that. and another thing is that they are also increasing the price on the buyers side. so it's ppossible that they may restrict some of the countries. so we have to check out how that applies to our case. and based on that move on to another site if this is not working out for us.

If this is true then it would be a blow for some people. I know some people are earning some dollars on iwriter even though the website has their own share of negative reviews. So it would surely be a blow for those guys who are earning comfortably on the site. I got rejected on the site twice because i failed their simple test, lol.

The grammar test is mandatory for everyone to take. I didn't find it that difficult to pass it at all. I tested the site to do a review on it. I didn't like their way of working and how many of the writers on there seem to cheat their way to the top. Considering I won't be working on this much the pay rate is rather low and it is like a lot of content writing sites that pay you a few bucks for a lot of research and work.

Well, I do not have a first hand experience with iWriter. However, I believe this is a legit freelancer website for writers. I know many people who have actually made money writing article for iwriter clients. The system is based on rating system. If you have better rating, you can apply for high paying writing job.

This is the first site I signed up with when I first came online to work,it a legit site that good writers can earn money from but the disadvantage is that as a beginner or standard level one might have jobs to write on all the time unless one has a constant client

I tried this site in this past but I stopped working there. It was difficult to get jobs because of the rating system.
The rating system on this site isn't the only issue there is. They have a very low pay rate and treat writers like slaves. You could spend several hours researching the content they ask you to write, an hour or so writing it up, and in the end you'll earn $3 to $4 only. This is way below slave labor and writing standards. It is best to find a site that pays you per word and doesn't expect you to write a 800 word paper for such a low pay rate. The site is making tons of money and charges a person quite a hefty fee to buy the paper from them. You'd think they would consider this and offer their writers a bit more to create this content for them.

Finally! This site was recommended but I have hesitated to sign up because the reviews are so mixed. Some say they have earned money but they don't write there anymore. Others have nothing to good to say about the site at all. But your feedback has finally helped me make a decision. This site does not sound like my idea of a "perfect fit". I enjoy writing but I don't want to be taken advantage of.
